[Official] Community Fly-In Friday: Vietnam

We will be hosting an Official Fly-in alongside a group of community members (you!) on Twitch. This is an open event, free to all who would like to fly along with us and available to pilots of all skill levels. The goal is to have a great time, explore new locations of the world, and make new friends. This event is open to pilots on both sim versions (MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024) and both the PC and Xbox platforms.

When: Friday, January 30 @ 1900Z for two hours.

There will also be a Discord event channel open for those who want to voice chat with other members of the community.

FLIGHT DETAILS

This week we’re off to Vietnam to explore a country rich in culture and history! We will depart from the capital city of Hanoi and then make our way on a generally southbound heading along the coast of the Gulf of Tonkin to our full stop landing at Da Nang, a city known for its beautiful beaches and close proximity to several UNESCO World Heritage sites. En route, we will also have touch & go landings at Vinh and Đồng Hới.

MSFS 2024 Pilots on PC, PS5, and Xbox can import the flight plan from the new Flight Planner tool at this link.

You can find instructions on how to load a flight plan from the Flight Planner website to your in-sim EFB on your PC or PS5/Xbox console on our forums here.

We will be starting at VVNB. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Beechcraft King Air, Cirrus Vision Jet, Daher TBM 930, or any aircraft of your choice with a cruise speed of 200+ knots.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

COMMUNICATION

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

I’m good with Vietnam. I don’t think I’ve actually ever flown there before. I’m thinking I’ll show up for this one.

Got to enjoy the whole flight this time, i.e. - no meetings interrupting. I should have flown in the daytime but the night lights were enjoyable and surprising how populated the whole flight was. Although it did make the touch-n-goes hard due to no airport lights!?

A nice flight once more.
Not many screenshots, as I was using the ossasion to get to know the PC-24 a little bit better. I spent most of the flight on autopilot, with my head inside the plane, fumbling around with screens.

That was a amazing flying Friday. One hour earlier parking the Pilatus PC-24 at Noibai Intl. (VVNB) for assigning the key bindings. First time flight with this model and i have to say for a baby Longitude its kind a great airplane too

It was some fun till my VR headset died of an empty battery, as my stupid a** brain forgot to attach the spare one that would have lasted me the complete flight. Got annoyed and quit the flight.

It was a nice event, enjoyed the route with its diverse scenery. I set the time so the start of the event was at sunrise, it looked really great in the sim.
