Local Legend V: Beechcraft Model 18 ("Twin Beech")

gcs7e74205, I believe you have solved the mystery.

I flew about a 5 hour flight last night before reading your post. I’m pretty sure I didn’t have the leading lights on when I took off. I would hand fly for awhile then go back to autopilot. Didn’t have any issues until I landed. It was dark so I turned on the landing lights. Autopilot was already on as I was setting everything up for landing. I switched off autopilot by clicking the roll switch with the mouse. I thought it was a strong crosswind pulling the plane to one side. After landing I switch to external view and the ailerons were full left and the flaps were not retracted. Even though the flaps handle was up and the gauge showed they were up. Come to find out autopilot was still active even with the roll off. I had to use the key bidding to disengage autopilot. Then the ailerons went to neutral and the flaps went up.

After reading your post it clicked and I just flew a 3 hour flight with no issues. So put some tape over the landing lights switch and don’t touch it.
