We’re thrilled to present an exciting exhibition event to showcase how using a Tobii Eye Tracker 5 can increase your situational awareness and sense of immersion when flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator!

Join us on our official Twitch channel at 1700 UTC on Monday, March 25 to cheer on your favorite team during this thrilling test of flying skill! During the livestream, we will conduct a random draw where one lucky viewer from Twitch chat will win a Tobii Eye Tracker 5 (must be present to win)!

Also, Tobii is currently running a 15% discount promotion on the purchase of an Eye Tracker 5. Click here to take advantage of this offer before it expires on April 1!

The format of the competition is as follows:

  • Three teams will compete a flying race through a portion of the Grand Canyon!
  • Each pilot will fly the route individually (time trial)
  • The team with the fastest combined time will be declared the winner and will receive the right to gloat about their superior flying skills

The Route

Pilots will depart from runway 25 at Page Municipal Airport (KPGA) and head northwest towards the Glen Canyon Dam. Upon reaching the dam, the pilot then turns south towards the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge. The timer starts when the pilot flies underneath the bridge. The pilot must stay below the canyon ridge at all times while navigating through the many twists and turns of the Grand Canyon until they reach the Navajo Bridge next to Marble Canyon Airport (L41). After flying under the bridge, the pilot will pull up and perform a half loop to change direction, immediately dive back under the canyon ridge, and then repeat the course in reverse. The timer stops as soon as the pilot flies underneat the start/finish line of the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge.

The Aircraft

All flights will be completed in the Extra 330LT

The Pilots

I had a nice time flying the route with various aircraft while watching the stream, glad I could hang out with everybody!
