[Official] Weekly Briefing Screenshot Challenge: Home Sweet Home

It’s time for another screenshot challenge! The idea is to collectively explore different parts of the world together - areas that may be very familiar to you or perhaps a new place you have never flown before. Feel free to find others to fly with to capture the challenge, or go solo!

This Week’s Challenge: Home Sweet Home

With the Microsoft Flight Simulator Team returning back from FlightSimExpo 2026, it feels good to be back home again! For this week’s Screenshot Challenge, be creative with your entries on the theme of returning back home after an epic journey. Whether it’s landing back at your home airport or overflying your local area, feel free to showcase your screenshot skills!

Rules

  1. Any time of day
  2. Any type of weather
  3. Code of Conduct appropriate liveries (avoid licensed airline liveries if possible)
  4. Default aircraft and scenery, or aircraft and scenery from the MSFS Marketplace
  5. Up to 10 entries (screenshots) allowed
  6. Avoid heavy digital editing or use of filters. Minor editing and touch-ups are allowed.
  7. Any images that have been altered/enhanced by AI are not permitted.

The rest is fair game! Use your creativity! We will pick the top 11 shots. 1 will be featured as the main photo of the next weekly briefing, and the other 10 will be featured in the community section.

You may also add a watermark or username to your image if you wish.

How To Submit Your Screenshot

Just post them below here in this thread, or if you’re on X you can post your photo with the #MSFSchallenge hashtag. We’ve also introduced a new way of entering via the official MSFS Discord Server. A new thread will appear each week in the “IMAGES” category, where you can also submit your entries.

Note: For the week the challenge is active, this thread is for screenshot submissions and challenge clarification only. Casual conversation about image submissions is allowed after the weekly challenge has ended. Thank you!

Home is where my aircraft is!

Home has been in many places during my life. As a pilot, you do have to move around a lot!
Here’s my story, briefly:

Where home was for many of us growing up on Flight Simulator: KCGX Meigs Field!

I learned to fly on the C182RG using the keyboard, where a lot of us learned to fly - KCGX Meigs Field! So here’s my C182RG from FS4 at Meigs! Lots more buildings now, but sadly, no blimp.

After thousands of hours flying with a keyboard on FS4, I started flight training and went solo, a moment every pilot remembers for their entire life!

Landing my first job flying a C177 & C177RG and getting paid $10 a weekend, if I was lucky! But I got to fly!

9/11 and Ansett Airlines going bankrupt was just at the right time - to put a massive spanner in the works for my career. Finally, years later I moved to Perth to instruct and really start my career. I even ran an airport for a few years and brought it and its club membership back to life!

After a few years of instructing and charter work, I finally got paid to fly twins! Home moved again, this time into the desert, and I got to fly into some extremely remote places - places that most people will never get to see or even imagine!

After moving back to the city to fly Cessna Conquests, a brief stint on a Dash 8, and some more instructing on PA-44 Seminoles, I moved overseas to finally fly for an airline! Only 20 years from solo to Jets! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Flying in Vietnam was an amazing challenge, and after a couple of years I moved to the left seat. Here we are racing a storm out of Danang. Sadly the airline partnership all came undone with Covid…

So now back in Aus, still flying, but not on my beloved A320. Still, we have some nice spots here don’t we? Just wish we got to actually stay at this one! :stuck_out_tongue:

And here’s my home in FS2024 (when I get a chance on the sim)! Flying onto the sides of mountains in the French and Swiss Alps!

Home is where my aircraft is!
