Old good Live Weather with pics! (Asobo, give an option to bring it back)

I would get behind temporarily reverting the weather engine to SU6 so that certain people on this forum can see what it was actually like, how cherry-picked most of the older screenshots are and the fact that a lot of the cherry-picked screenshots were of completely incorrect weather because of how bugged the entire system was back then. See all those pre-su7 screenshots of little cumulus clouds half way in the ground with weird lighting? Probably not, because the people posting the screenshots are highly selective about what they post. Don’t like the fact that Meteoblue sometimes gets their forecast wrong? Imagine if Asobo was feeding forecast data for the wrong hours, so even when meteoblue got it right, it was still wrong in the sim. There were so many bugs that are not there in SU10, AND we get the pretty stratus clouds we had before, and we get wind gusts and the solar radiation simulation, and we get all the improvements to the lighting, layering, altitude, and draw distance, even though the “pre-SU7 club” completely denies it despite all the tests being done and pics being posted. I honestly think if these people were forced to experience SU6 and earlier versions, they would appreciate what we now have in SU10 a lot more. So let’s do it, for the sake of this forum and Asobo’s sanity.

Absolutely not my experience!. Before SU7, I got 99% of the time very accurate visual representations of skies while extremely close to real life conditions. Weather looked amazing all the time!!!, no cherry picking at all. Even winds were spot on most of the time. Since the very first day of SU7 (which was a total dissaster btw, you will agree right?), is the other way around: 99% of the time, I get puffy, giant, transparent cumulous all the time, no matter where, unless under really heavy cloudy zones, where things just get even more puffy and cahotic, with not the same level of resemble of real life formations as we easily had previously.

You talk about “how bugged” the system was (very debatable) but, is now any different?really? we don’t even have gusts or turbulence on clouds. It took almost 6 months to prevent the clouds to touch the ground since SU7, can you remember that?.

You also talk about improvements in lighting, draw distance, etc.? really?, According with my experience and with the ton of screens I have, I think it is pretty much the opposite.

And just in case you missed that part, many of us are asking for the (temporal?) option to revert certain aspects of the weather simulation (visuals at least), but the certain areas where improvements where done are a keeper, of course. I don’t see how could this annoy anyone. At least the visual representation of the clouds has experienced a clear downgrade, maybe is a matter of increasing the cloud density parameter, who knows. All I know is that since day 1 of SU7, nothing has been as good as it was (after several hundreds of flight hours) in terms of weather depiction for me, and 1 year later things remain the same.

But just to set it clear: I’m not looking to confront others, we are all in the same boat and can give our points of view. There is nothing bad in remembering how beautiful and how nicely live weather worked for me (and many others) pre-su7, some of us just miss it and after sooo long waiting for the new system to render as nicely without success, we are asking for an option to revert back to it meanwhile things get fixed/improved with this new system, if that is even possible.
