Hello, I installed and immediately uninstalled a Steam version of MSFS several months ago. I have always used the msfs store version before and since. After that one time Steam install third party apps continue to think I still have a “Steam” version somewhere on my system. I have searched for left over files / folder etc… but can not find any. Any ideas at where some hidden file or reg entry etc… may be left over that I can zap that will erase all traces of a “steam” install?
Thanks
Well I would reset my pc if I were you because that’s what I usually do when I need to uninstall something I can’t find. However your comment does make me wonder if having purchased the steam MFS (But not having it installed) is causing some of my major problems with it.
It could be a leftover appmanifest file. Look in the SteamApps folder. Usually at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\
Info here:
Finally found the issue. Even though Steam MSFS was uninstalled, and Steam itself was uninstalled and all Steam folders were deleted there were left over files in the windows drive programs folder that the uninstallations did not delete. I finally tracked it down by reading a log file from the FSUIPC installer. The installer’s msfs community file check pointed to an old, undeleted Steam MSFS .cfg file. With this info. I was able to track down and delete the offending left over folder and solve the issue.
