Old system upgrade advice / 3060Ti & Ryzen5 3600

As I posted in this thread, 9070XT is amazing - #16 by SebastianJ7210, I decided to replace my RX5700XT (8Go VRAM) by a RX9070 (16Go VRAM). Main reason was more VRAM for MSFS2024 but also future proofing + power consumption similar to 5700XT.
R5 3600, 32Go System RAM

I am running games at 1080p locked at 35-40fps (via AMD driver) so I am not demanding too much to the GPU (except using VRAM ;)) but my old config was not generating much more than 30fps

I am not running “ultra” but “high end” settings. Now I reach a 1% low of 40 fps.

I would be able to find a new R5 5700X3D but I am not sure I would be able to “survive” with this CPU for the next 5 years (as 5700X3D has a boost speed similar to R5 3600, so I might still be “main thread limited” with the 5700X3D).

Not related to this forum, but this new config config also do good in Cyberpunk 2077 (which might be clearly less CPU demanding than MSFS2024)

Having said that and seeing I am “main thread limited”, I would also say to look into upgrading CPU first to push your GPU to its full potential (if you do not have sim crashs due to lack of VRAM right now).
