ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
The latest version of Flight Planner does not calculate fuel correctly.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
All aircraft

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. I create a new flight with departure and arrival, I select an average consumption and that average consumption per hour is not multiplied by the flight time

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? No

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Does the issue happens with the online flight planner or with the EFB ?
Could you add in the reproduction steps more info about the data you are entering in the flight planner (an example) so that devs/users can try to reproduce ?

With the online flight planner.

My understanding per conversations with the Working Title team is that this is an expected limitation of the Planner tool right now as they have no access to current performance data for any aircraft in the sim. This is expected to be updated over time, but at the moment, no performance calculations are possible.

And even though you’re manually supplying the consumption rate, my guess is that the functionality as a whole is unsupported at the moment because of that lack of data from the sim. I would prefer the fields just be unavailable or now if that’s the case, so that could end up being the bug report that comes from this.

Before the latest update, the fuel consumption rate was multiplied by the flight time, which at least gave a somewhat more approximate fuel total.

Yes I don’t see any fuel planning at all. Select a plane and you have the payload but everything is zeroed out on the fuel. Hopefully this is coming and hopefully some of these options will be in the in-sim planner as it’s pretty basic right now. Another reason I’m back on 2020 now. I wish this flight planner let us save flights for use in 2020. Simbrief is fine for me though.

Ah, didn’t know that. I never bothered with it since I didn’t trust any of the consumption rate data I found to match the way the sim aircraft operate.

In addition to the post on this forum, you may also want to visit the Working Title discord and let them know there. I’ve had fantastic success there in getting bugs logged quickly, and even resolved same-day in some cases (obviously very dependent on the bug itself).

But it the planner asks me how much fuel I burn per hour, how fast I plan to fly that route, and it knows how long the flight is from the route entered. I can work that out with my E6B.

Yeah, from other posts above it seems that this basic calculation worked preciously, but broke/was removed with a recent update to the Planner platform.

I know this was a typo, but I loved its use in this context. :joy:

And for that reason I won’t even correct it - amazing <3
