Online Flight planner fight plans not importing correctly into aircraft

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Flight plans I create and import from the flight planner website do not translate correctly into my aircraft causing discontinuities and changes in the flight plan. Mostly on airliners. I have not worked out why the game changes the flight plan because the flight planner website is Microsoft created so I am baffled why it does not sync correctly

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Intermittently, 50/50

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Create a flight plan in flight planner

  2. Import into EFB and start flight with flight plan imported into chosen aircraft

  3. Sometimes legs might disappear or change

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

One this flight something changed some of the waypoints and deleted one of the legs so my lnav just stopped picture 1 is the flight plan created and picture 2 shows the change between LALGO and BANEV with new waypoints and a discontinuity

In order for devs/users to reproduce, could you provide additional information like:

  • aircraft you are importing the flight plan into
  • the detailed flight plan
  • if FP was created using the in-sim EFB or the online flight planner
  • legs/waypoints that have disappeared or changed

Mostly 737 MAX in the Microsoft flight planner website which I then imported into the EFB from the web

Not the same flight plan but the purple bit changed and deleted

In the above example, I don’t see an arrival.
I can see the approach, but no arrival.
For that approach, PESE3A would be appropriate.
Since that doesn’t appear to be selected, I wonder if the sim tries to compensate by changing the route.

That might reduce the amount of disappearing legs but even with arrival it still happens. Even if the logic changes the route that shouldn’t lead to legs disappearing which is more serious than just a slight change

I’ll try that same route with arrival PESE3A inserted and report on the results

You are absolutely right, I agree it shouldn’t, I just wondered if that would cause it.

As you can see Arrival and approach inserted but disappearing legs on FMC

Thanks for taking the time to confirm this, it is appreciated!

With arrival added in the flight plan was perfectly preserved!

I think the conclusion is you can’t stop disappearing legs but you can lower the chance by sticking to what the sim suggests

I’m suddenly experiencing very similar problems importing efb Simbrief flightplans into the A332 and A35K with missing waypoints and incorrect fuel calculations. Someone on a thread I created suggested something about “package_order_hint” entries and “manifest.jsons” which went completely over my head.

I’ve never had this problem before the last 7 or so days, so I’m suspicious that it may not in fact be a “me” problem.
