Honestly I really couldn’t care less about seasons right now. I’m more interested in fixing the content we have currently, which is amazing, but it does need work - then we can talk about seasons.
So many still miss the point - let me try to make it more simple.
- Does anybody see how seasons went from a top 3 wish-list item just over a month ago, to not even being in the top 20! (going BACKWARDS even MORE)
- Does anybody see how so many BASIC things ARE NOW HAVING to TAKE PRIORITY because they were omitted or blundered. (started off with little and going to end getting less).
Of course stability and autopilots and scores of other blunders and omissions come before seasons, DUH! But these were the BASICS that should be EXPECTED ON RELEASE!!!
There is a strong possibility that seasons will be totally forgotten and even weather will be unimportant.
Since the majority don’t care about much more than screenshots, this will be the slowest of development paces. I truly believe it will eventually get very irritating to even the greatest fan of MSFS.
The people who are happy, you just keep being happy, as best as you can, I’m happy for you.
I now refer to this so called flight simulation community as the stagnation community.
I simply call it as it truly is.
I understand the point you are trying to make, but that is a bit dramatic.
It’s way easier to just figure out how to enjoy what you have. You can scream all day, but you still get what you get. THAT is the truth my friend.
Your thread really makes no logical sense. I seriously doubt your motivations for any of these criticisms. In my personal opinion you’re reaching really hard for essentially nothing. Stop baiting, come up with better criticisms that are worth the discussion, because this just looks like someone looking for something to be upset about.
I simply am calling it as it truly is. (Who the hell says this on a FS thread?!)
There’s " Seasons " in Farm Simulator .
There you go , no need to thank me !!
I know exactly what you mean. I just want to “fly” the simulator for hours on end and have my paycheck delivered to my bank account on time. Is that too much to ask?
Adding snow and rain whenever you like is a perfect option I think.
It does not cover also, new Fx particle node, VR, default AI traffic, peripheral support\ advanced support, look like all abandoned at once, they are not in the feedback.
The top wish can be confusing and not reliable from real users expectation, VR\Season was loud cry, but because the team talked about it and confirmed they worked on this, discussion on both dropped from users significantly to almost none.
Ideally, they’d use Meteoblue’s weather model, which should have a parameter for snow depth valid across the globe. I’m wondering how they’re going to do the rest of the scenery change though. Some areas might have multiple versions of aerial imagery by season, but most don’t I’m guessing. So they’d need to create new layers of Bing imagery that have colors automatically replaced: greens swapped for browns and blacks for example. I’m worried that’s going to create a whole new set of nasty glitches, not unlike how the terrain glows over Dubai at night. Tricky problem, and curious to see how they pull it off.
Could be that someone is working on this.
You could not understand the point I’m making. The reason you cannot understand is because you settle for less. I make the point of “from where we came” (FSX,P3D5,XP11,AF2 etc.). You consider MSFS a brand new idea that nobody ever came up with, as if MSFS is the first flight sim to ever hit the world. I don’t give excuses for blunders, you welcome all the blunders.
It is not easier to figure out how to enjoy something when it is not what it claims to be. For example, children making mud cookies in Haiti; just because they are called cookies does not make them worth anything or enjoyable. The exact same principal applies here.
Oh it makes sense and its true, you’re just upset.
You know nothing of my motives, because I’m not reaching for anything. I’m providing feedback based on todays update. My post could also be taken as an appeal to anyone who may just think a little about the state of this project. Just because you don’t agree with my feedback, does not mean your lack of ability to see the logic should cause you to be so upset.
You could have read the title I carefully worded. I knew very few could notice what I know to be totally true. It may not be intentional as far as the plan goes, but I know this community very well. I know where it loves to be and that is in a stagnant state. It is almost like an incurable cancer.
Dovetail Games made very similar errors too. Asobo falls into the same tradition. Gigantic promises for a future date, BUT PAY NOW. That is not logical or practical.
I never said MSFS was terrible - I’m saying that eventually, the slow progress of basic realism features, will do its part in forcing the cancelation or total omission of basic features, some of which will render wonderful aircraft add-ons essentially useless. Easy to understand, and logical.
A good base is a good base - and there is good in MSFS, but the bad still outweighs the good.
Many are still seeking refunds, others like me have cancelled their $1 membership & got the $1 back, and many have left for other flight sims, some left long ago.
All that said, I would welcome a civilized conversation/debate about this. I have proven myself to be very capable of fruitful conversation over an array of topics and debates. But I know the attacks will abound, as they are now being allowed on some and not on others…a double standard has arrived in this forum too. Now all the stagnant forums are all the same, and so many are calling this so called sim an all new wonderful breakthrough…no, there is NOTHING new here, we are back to the same old excuses and total lack of justice in the forums. All of this is a result of the stagnation that is adored.
Completely off the rails.
Please discuss points, not people.
As annoying as it may be, if the community has voted for other things in preference to this, then the system works. The community have spoken, as it were, and the thing to realise is that as these items come to fruition, they will drop off the wish list.
It may take a while, as things like rejigging flight planning, DX12, Scenery Gateway etc. may take a little while to develop. But I’m sure it will happen.
Just like any vote, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I don’t think the “Press any key” thing should be number one, and I’d gladly see that pushed down out of the top 20, but I also recognise its important to a lot of people, and I’d like to see the back of it myself, and it is almost certainly a trivial change to make, so if it isn’t rectified, then it is there by mandate for some unfathomable, non-technical, reason.
This is how prioritization works though. Not to mention not a whole lot of people had even played the game “a month ago”. Yes, there are issues - but this is to be expected? How can you call an autopilot system basic? Every simulator I’ve played had issues, some even couldn’t be fixed because it was boxed, and there weren’t service packs available. People have simply realized seasons isn’t what they want right now, and I don’t think that would be any different if these issues hadn’t cropped up. Weather I disagree will be forgotten - it’s a major aspect of the sim and totally encompasses the nature of MSFS. We’re a month in, with patch 3 coming in a short while. Let’s tune it down a bit and enjoy what you can.
You do realize the wishlist is COMMUNITY VOTED right?
You do realize more votes does not make seasons less of a gargantuan task to undertake? What’s the point of whining about lack of votes (Which is what you’re doing) for something that, best case scenario, will take like 6 months to get in the game?
Chill and watch as the wishlist gets to the “fat” items after the game is stable and polished.
This thread is indeed a bit strange. To those not aware, those snapshots are based on the wishlist forums, sorted by votes, as seen here:
Seasons only has 42 votes which is less than the 104 votes of the least-voted item on their list. So it’s no wonder it’s not in there.
And they still are not giving us back our sensitivities in controls.
I honestly see this sim going the way of Microsoft Flight. All the bugs. Removing or breaking features. Making excuses for this and that. Dumbing down the scenery in anticipation of the XBox version. MSFS will be dead in a year.
I would assume that one of the problems with having seasons is that the sim relies on Bing maps for the base info. If they don’t have spring, fall and winter maps for the entire planet it could be a bit difficult. It is not physically possible to produce the entire planet including all airports, trees, buildings etc from scratch.
