That moment when you first fly a plane you bought and realize you won’t be flying it much.
I’m not going to badmouth the plane that inspired this post. Many love it. It isn’t terrible.

Such a tease and couldn’t tell us what it is
Kind of a pointless topic without any details.
It has two engines.
If you exclude all my details, excellent point.
I am not dragging on a specific plane.
This isn’t my first time flying a bird and instantly knowing she won’t be my world traveler. You don’t know until you buy.
I can agree to your point. I own nearly every aircraft, and this has been my feeling in regards to the majority of them.
80-90% aren’t for me. Even if folks love them. I love specific planes that work well with my expensive gear. I make informed decisions. Sometimes I am still disappointed in spite of my best efforts.
I was nearly going to guess the “Exterior Only” Hercules lol, now I’m guessing perhaps an Embraer?
Oops, I read this post.
I’ve done this. I’ve not bought any of the utter garbage that has been lambasted (rightly) in reviews (I also won’t mention names, but people know what they are). But I have bought stuff and thought ‘meh’ after giving them a test. Not terrible, just, missing something that will keep me going back to it.
It was a quality plane. I do my research. But I didn’t mean to make a post about a mystery plane (the P-38 if you must know) just the feeling you get when you buy a plane, fly it, and know it will not be the one.
Exactly my point. Thank you.
I have it and yes, I’ve flown each one once, some twice and haven’t touched it since so I get what ya mean. Something’s missing or it’s not doing it for me at least for now.
I had that feeling about the F-14. I don’t think it’s a bad plane, I just enjoy flying others more. I’ve flown it five times and haven’t touched it since.
That is exactly my sentiment. So far I only have the JF Arrows and the Islander that I can fully map my controls onto. All the other planes have some caveat. But here’s to hoping that hardware integration will become better or easier over time. I just hate to fiddle around with the mouse when I got ample of switches in hardware in front of me.
A good start would be to not lock up the controls when touching docked out screens on a touch screen. But not many people are bothered by it, judging by the support my bug report got.
I certainly have been there myself. I try to stay optimistic and take the long view. “Someday this might get an overhaul and be awesome, and I will already have it”.
It’s the best I can do and it helps with soothing the useless feeling of regret.
I feel this way about the PMDG DC-6. It is a well done aircraft. It is, however, really for those to like to fiddle with every bit of the flying experience. Although, I am an older person, the experience of flying more modern designs is right for me.
Let me guess, Bredok 737? You should start getting better at doing research my man
Impulse buying is what MS and third-party developers depend on.
I count my loses and move on to the next impulse purchase…
sometimes I can’t help myself… shame, shame, shame.
The beauty of opinion is that everyone is allowed to have one, and express it. Opinions are not facts, and they can’t really be wrong. I love the P-38 personally and fly it a fair bit. You don’t and that’s perfectly okay. You’re not wrong, it’s just not for you. You’re exercising your right to free speech.
