Just downloaded the latest version OXRT. Activated it, and started FS in VR. In VR with the Quest2 on the runway (helicopter) and I can not get the OXRT menu to open? Read the instruction for use. The menu should open with the F2 key or CTRL+F2, but it does not? Pressed ALL the F keys, with or without the CTRL key, and even tried the Alt key. The menu will not open. Help please. I will also contact OXRT support.
Tried everything. Checked Open XR is working with Oculus with RegEdit, OK. Tried safe (legacy mode). Followed many checks from troubleshooting in OXRT website. Nothing works, just not able to get the menu to appear?
This might help get you setup:

Make sure you haven’t mapped any other functions to CTRL-F2.
Or try to map menu to something else like ALT-F8 or whatever in the toolkit app.
Thanks. Re-mapping to other keys may do the trick. As far as I know CTRL+F2 is not assigned to anything else. I will let you know and this post as soon as I find a cure. I have tried various re-assignments of keys. Nothing works, still no menu?
Following the OXRT troubleshooting. Confirmed Oculus is set to active. Downloaded the ‘Open Composite’, and checked other things. And still NO menu appears. Running out of options to try. It looks like I will have to give up on this Open XR Toolkit? Pity!
Thanks. See comments. I will have to give up on Open XR Toolkit, Running out of troubleshooting ideas to fix this?
You can assign menu keys to what ever you want from the drop down list for each in toolkit and you dont have to use CTL function. I have it set to simple, 1, 2, 3 since I dont use keyboard during flight
Got to Start menu → openxrtoolkit app and assign it there before launching msfs.
goodluck
Maybe mapping Ctrl + F2 to something really exotic to make sure there’s no double mapping.
Like Ctrl + Alt + F2.
I tried loads of different key combinations with numbers, letters, symbols, with or without CTRL or Alt, ect, ect. Checked out every possible troubleshooting cure. Even deleted and re-installed OXRT. Hopeless. Have to give up on this. Either put up with the poor performance in VR, which I don’t want. Very content with monitor mode which is 4K sharp in ultra settings and very smooth. Why all this VR hassle anyway? Why can’t VR just be ‘plug & play’? I have seen all the settings adjustments in YouTube vids, just to get some form of acceptable VR performance, which is never going to be as good as in monitor mode!? Adjust Win11 graphics settings, Nvidia settings, Oculus settings, Oculus Tray settings, OXRT settings and FS VR settings. All of these settings to change! This is utter nonsense! In my view all of this is far more bother than it’s worth! Thanks to all for trying to help. This is the last post from me regarding this.
VR cannot seem as sharp as 4k monitor because the pixels are a half-inch from your eye, and also since each eye has a slightly different perspective your PC must render each frame two times, which means the performance also can’t be as good. Many people find the immersion of VR to be worth the fidelity drop compared to a single flat monitor. If you don’t find it worth it, then don’t play it. If you want a plug & play VR experience, don’t play MSFS, because it was never really designed to be a VR game in the first place and the post-hoc VR implementation is pretty poor. Other games, such as those that were meant from the start to be VR games, will generally provide a smoother experience. Mainstream VR gaming and development in general is still in its infancy. Come back in 10 years.
After uninstalling OXRT and re-installing it. The VR menu now opens and adjust the settings. Thanks for all replies on this. I do have other VR issues but will start a new topic on this. This specific topic is now closed.
