Openxr not found

hey all..
well I have read most of the other posts regarding openxr toolkit and I’m having the openxr is not installed error come up when I try and switch to vr.

I have verified files, re installed oculus app still getting this error.
would this also be the cause of the latest update in oculus?
thanks
Glenn.

Did you check:

  • Settings > General > Unknown sources > On
  • Settings > General > OpenXR Runtime > Set Meta Quest Link as active OpenXR Runtime

Make sure both are still set.

I was just using Meta Quest Link and it was working, but I had to click the button for the second option as I had been using Virtual Desktop and Link needed to be set as the default again.

hey . thanks for reply.
yep both are set…
I did try virtual desktop and flew once..upon setting up next test flight I was not able to click fly now in vr…wasn’t visible while inside plane…so that stopped..

Mine is working fine with Link and Air Link. Maybe make sure you’ve disabled or uninstalled OpenXR Toolkit because it seems to be causing problems with the v68 update. I haven’t found the need to use OpenXR Toolkit for quite a while now (+8 months) and with my i913900k/rtx4090 PC I didn’t find it was needed anymore.

Also, like the OP said, check your meta-link pc app settings since a lot of them seemed to change and/or go back to defaults. For instance, my device graphics settings changed back to default 72Hz with res slider = 1.0x.

You may want to check your ODT file as well. With Link I set mine to defaults/zeros for everything except distortion Low and encoding bitrate 650mbps. This is with both my Q3 (still v67) and QPro/meta-link pc app v68.

If you are using dx12 with msfs maybe try going back to dx11.

You may also want to reinstall your gpu driver and check your settings.

Otherwise, I suggest you contact Meta support including your log file and see if they can identify what’s causing this issue. Good luck mate and cheers.

That’s just a msfs bug. Start the flight in 2D and then switch to 3D.

I do. and get the error .
when I look to see if quest openxr is in the reg it is, so I’m at a lost.

Do you have the Disable the OpenXR Toolkit checkbox checked?

had it and uninstalled it…maybe i’ll reinstall it and see if I can tweak it

Ok reinstall and uncheck Disable the OpenXR Toolkit
and restart PC

ok so reinstall adn unchecked and rechecked and restarted each time.
no change..
so far the only way to get vr was in virtual desktop and only once. link cable
second test flight in cockpit the window for flynow not visible. weird.
so close…

Join public test channel and try again.

did that
was already joined then un joined restart still same thing.
last resort master reset for quest 2

well I’m at the end…
still get error.
no matter what I do I can not get to vr either in main menu or in flight

I keep getting this…
when I use virtual desktop I can switch only once to vr if I switch twice it freezes. with linkcable
the reg path shows oculus runtime as active and settings show oculus runtime as active . ive checked public test channel and un checked and nothing changes.
I take it this is from the lastes updat from oculus and will have to wait till the next update unless one of you have a fix.
best part is I just bought new plane and can’t fly it …lol

well after reinstall of msfs2020 and repair of desktop app. still get error…
currently working with support team to figure it out…quest v67 desktop app v68

so can any you confirm the version you are running in quest 2 and app…please
thanks

Edit for this post
hey all..
well OMG…I finally figured it out…
Oculus Tray Tool …installed and left default setting…now msfs2020 switches to VR…
