OpenXR Toolkit, Remove it in MSFS2024 (I am not sure?)

Hi dudes,

I have just been playing about in MSFS 2024 and discovered that OpenXR Toolkit is not supported.

So I disabled it and VR did improve, I hope this helps.

See

PS I have a RTX4070 and getting ~ 18fps in VR without the toolkit

** UPDATE **
I have returned to good old OpenXR Toolkit, it sharpens the image and gives me a playable frame rate.
Might not be supported in 2024 but it works.

What do you mean “it’s not supported”? It wasn’t “supported” in 2020 either. I’m not sure what you mean though, it works in both sims.

OpenXR Toolkit gives me CTD.
Fly a few minutes (over 15) and then CTD.
Issues with nvwgf2umx.dll

Without OpenXR I don’t have any CTD more for more than two hours.

Interesting, it’s not inherently due to OXRTK though. Ive had it on since getting the sim and never had that issue.

I’ve tried with and without OXRTK and the fail persists only with the addon. Casuality? May be.

I’m not denying it could be causing an issue for you in your specific system. But it’s probably just one of several variables.

How do I remove OpenXR Toolkit in MSFS2024?

No problem here either. In fact, the toolkit for me is a necessity! Turbo mode, DFR settings, 90% scale, etc. Working great! Pimax Crystal original.

You can disabile it simply de-clicking the option in the OpenXR Tool Kit app.
Open the app and you’ll find the option in the upper part of the menu

For me work fine… i’ve use 3 hours with OXR toolkit without any problem

Hi and thanks for the reply.
I am still testing to see if OpenXR tool kit gives me more or less FPS, whats it like your end?
Regards
Dave

I feel like it’s adding value via FFR, CAS sharpening and being able to change reaolution easily. But Ive also heard it might be responsible for some crashes.

HELP.

Could you write here your settings with OpenXR Toolkit ?

I would like try other configurations. I have the preset Quality-Wide and all default and I have the same issue, CTD after 15-20 minutes.

EDIT: FS2024 + 4070ti + Pico 4 + Virtual Desktop VDXR H264+

Regards.

Weird, now in the program box to tick or untick selectively games, the only MSFS related says “FS2020 (FlightSimulator2024.exe)”, is it there the problem, what does it mean?, now works in FS20, not, yes, neither, only in FS24? haha

It’s recognized like 2020, but it’s the same. It’s works.

And now in FS20 doesn´t work?, it doesn´t appear another .exe MSFS related.

Do you stop playing games then they aren’t supported? I bet the answer is no.

The toolkit works perfectly fine in MSFS2020 and for my short time with 24 it worked as well, just because an app isn’t supported it DOESN’T mean you shouldn’t use it
