OpenXR Toolkit (upscaling, world scale, hand tracking...) - Release thread

Hi, I am not sure if this area is in your remit but in case it is I wanted to raise an idea, apologies if this is not the appropriate place to do so

I have occasionally encountered a headset bug that temporarily “smeared” the image to the left upon a left head rotation. Whilst I believe this was a bug, I found it significantly preferable to the black bars/stencil that is normally there. I have tried to illustrate it below with the red box representing the image displayed in the headset. Whilst the temporarily smeared image is of course not perfect, it is in the very periphery of vision and by the time it is focussed on, the correct image has been rendered - on the other hand, full black bars are very noticeable even at the periphery (maybe something evolutionary in the brain?)

I found this particularly good in MSFS as 1)the FPS can be low enough to see the black bar effect frequently and 2) for me the most common head rotations are a simple yaw, and much of the time the smearing is just putting a blue sky and a green terrain in the correct areas.

I have struggled to reproduce my bug on demand so haven’t been able to test loads of scenarios, but in the flights I had it it was much better than the normal black bars and might be a great option to have if feasible. Thanks for all of your work !

(Edit - example below is simplified and in reality it was smearing in smaller distances every 1/FPS I guess)
