I had a look around but I don’t see a similar topic. I’m not talking about updating the optimization, but optimizing the updates…
There are already discussion about the use of resources during the update, which is really not justifiable.
Here I’m talking about the size of the updates. Yesterday I started an update, for roughly 500MB more of data, I’m downloading 84GB. Every update has involved a massive download, like if I were downloading the game for scratch. I have a 25Mbit line (I know, it’s pathetic but I have no other choice) and this means more than one day of PC on just to update the game.
I find really hard to believe that on each update it’s necessary to download this amount of data. It would be really nice to see some optimization on the size of the updates, I don’t think I have ever seen any software where updates require periodical download of tens of GB…
