I know it’s needed for simmers who prefer using a Xbox controller. But for those who prefer using an actual mouse & keyboard, the Xbox One Screen keyboard is unnecessary and even intrusive. So I wish for an option to toggle on and off the on screen keyboard and interact directly with the Sim, just like it is on the PC.
I’d be more than happy to be able to turn off the X-Box Controller image on the startup screens, on my PC
It suddenly appeared after an update a few months ago, and has never gone away …
Others on PC I have spoken to say they do not have it, or if they did, it went away after a few MSFS restarts.
Not a big deal – just Annoying it seems “WRONG” and cannot be fixed ?
If this is possible. It would be amazing if Xbox users with mouse and keyboard connected, would be able to input text directly like pc users.
And not only via the onscreen keyboard on Xbox. Enabled / disable onscreen keyboard via settings. Thanks ![]()
I’m gonna go ahead and bump this, it’s a pretty critical function for a lot of aircraft, including many of the default aircraft, the EFB, Garmin avionics/ GPS etc. The sim literally will pause every time you type something with a physical keyboard because the pop up keyboard appears every time.
This wish was created during FS2020 where it was very cumbersome, and in FS2024 it’s even more important to have (EFB etc).
Yeah the on screen keyboard is apart of the Xbox OS and may be something difficult to bypass. I know it is still possible to type directly into the fields after getting a prompt and then closing keyboard. But still it’s intrusive and often resets the cockpit controls. Earlier during Xbox One there actually was an option to disable the keyboard but it was removed and never returned. But still it would be nice if they give Xbox an interface option for mouse and keyboard users.
