I know I’m not alone in finding this message extremely frustrating not to mention intrusive, please add an Option to remove it for those of us who don’t want too nor need to see it, thanks
Dear MSFS Team,
I beg you in the name of the whole community, please add the possibility to DISABLE the annoying message since SU2 which says “Resource usage exceeds GPU memory capacity, lower graphics settings for better performance”.
Since I’m using frame generation, even when Sim runs smooth I get this annoying message when looking around in the cockpit!
Best regards
Totally agree! This needs to get more Votes!!!
Instead of disabling, how about Asobo fixes the bug that is causing this problem?
Looks like its not easy to solve that problem, anyway until then this can be a hotfix for people where its runs smooth with frame gen
I’ve never once seen this message in SU2. Wondering if it’s appearance is 3rd party application related?
Your option makes more sense.
Most likely it is tied to that.
I get it a lot when using more addon detailed aircraft and airports, but I have never experienced any issues when that error is displayed.
When the VRAM is full, the system uses the standard RAM in addition to avoid a blockage.
It still works but the performance is significantly reduced (drop in FPS, stutters, etc.).
There are undoubtedly airports or aircraft add-ons that would deserve a lot of optimization work.
I get the popup and I don’t use any 3rd party products, it’s an annoyance and just a way to hide the actual issue which is poor optimisation of the game itself.
I just have to enable HDR and DLSS and my 16GB 4080 gets the message. Nothing fixed it except putting texture resolution to medium. The sim was as smooth as silk in 2020 and 2024 before the message was added so I don’t see the purpose of it except to be ■■■■ annoying.
So the options in order of precedence are:
- Fix the VRAM usage.
- Fix the message so it’s shown only when it needs to be.
- Remove the message.
This is already the case.
I never see this message because I don’t use airliners and don’t frequent large airports. The vast majority of the time the VRAM used at home is 8 to 10 GB out of 16. (Half)
It happens to me only when I fly over the Grand Canyon Village and I dive into the abyss, always in the same place. So yes, there is indeed an optimization problem in certain places on the map, probably made worse if you use a large airliner.
The message has a meaning… it’s the graphics card telling you: “help I’m clogged, help me, do something”
When it happens to me, i activate Dynamic settings, the TLOD/OLOD is temporarily reduced and at least it remains fluid and playable.
While waiting for better days, lower your graphics settings or better : activate Dynamic settings which will take care of it for you only when necessary.
False i have many time this massage with more 1GB of VRAM free with my RTX5070, i have zero sutter … this message is not realiable
i have more MainThread Limited issue than GPU Limited … Look like is PSO/Shader Compilation issue than VRAM many time …
Also many aircraft use the old Texture Container (DDS) instand the new one (ktx2), ktx2 is more optimise …
DLSS eat more VRAM …
DLSS also puts the Tensor cores to good use in the later and current generation of GTX cards, which if I understand it correctly, allows the AI do work on the image output in parallel with the traditional processor modules. With the last two iterations of the NVIDIA driver, I have switched to DLSS/Quality from TAA and seen benefit in conjunction with Dynamic on to manage high density scenery situations (complex aircraft at complex airports). This is working for me on a 5070Ti.
Please remove the low VRAM warning.
Or at least prevent it from popping up while I’m in flight.
Please remove the low VRAM warning or at least prevent it from popping up while I’m in flight.
Or even make the low VRAM warning toggable on/off with a keyboard shortcut like you can with traffic nameplates.
Yes needs to be fixed before SU3 goes live. When flying at night both in sim and RL with cockpit lights dimmed and flying NVFR it is extremly annoying to have this white backlit message appear and ruining the atmosphere.
What settings do folks have set so high that this message comes up to interrupt their flights, one wonders? And to that mystery, what settings have folks who have seen this message lowered in (or outside of) the sim to make the message go away? Any success along these lines? Just wondering because I have never seen this message and so trying to understand the conditions that cause it to appear. Cheers!
It’s all about vram. Everybody wants their moneys worth out of their GPU so you want to use as much vram as you can, like in the 90s. But there’s a fine line between the 90s and 100 percent. And that’s when the message starts popping up. But come on, we’re not stupid. We don’t need a message to tell us this. It will show in the performance.
