I’ve launched the sim like any other day. The first screen that appears is the parameters settings that appear after installing. It asks me to establish all the parameters. This has happened three or four times in one year.
It is impossible to recover my settings. Everything lost. Even the instrument settings in my airplanes. What use is it to save them if I cannot recover them?
Is there a way to retrieve these adjustments?
If they are saved they should be somewhere.

All your settings should b stored “in the cloud”, that is, by Microsoft through your MS account, which you need to be logged into… I believe you also need to ensure your X-Box gaming Services is logged into as well.
From what you say it looks like the sim cannot find the settings when it opens so assumes you are a new user. I think this was sorted for me automatically when I first installed MSFS but it’s been a while so I can’t really be sure. Whatever make sure you are logged into MS and Xbox before starting the sim - you may have to do all the settings again one more time but should be okay after that.
One last thought - ensure any security software you are using is not blocking the sim, MS or Xbox.

I was logged in. At least my avatar showed in the up right hand corner and the sim was bought from MS Store.
Next time it happens I will try to close the sim without touching anything and open it up again.
Curious I lost the sim settings but not the logs or the joystick and mouse settings.

MSFS MS store version.
Joystick, mouse, keyboard settings are stored in the cloud and your hard drive.
Graphics settings are stored only on your hard drive.
Make a backup copy of file named
UserCfg.opt
