So I among many others have noticed the new Orbis MD-10 visual model that is soon to be released, but I feel like it’s something with unfulfilled potential. I feel like awareness is great, but an even better idea is to turn this into a fully flyable aircraft with at least basic systems, if not close to study level, and then selling it on the marketplace with some of the proceeds going directly to Orbis. I for one would certainly pay a decent amount especially with the knowledge of it going to charity, but I guess it’s up to the other users to agree on that sentiment. If Asobo themselves aren’t available for that work, I’m sure there are some dev teams that would be happy to do it themselves for a cut of the profit.
Agreed but we all know what asobo/ms is like

I would like to suggest that a flyable MD-10 becomes payware and all (or most) of the revenue will be donated to Orbis. They do great work and deserve it.

I’d love that, but unfortunately making it into a flyable model is a COMPLETELY different thing than it being used as essentially scenery. It means NOTHING was done on it as far as it being an aircraft per se. So essentially, this would be developing one from scratch, which would take a huge amount of time and resources. An MD-10 is a complex plane - the ATR is slated for next year because of the amount of time it would take to develop it. I imagine the MD-10 would take even longer.

So is this thing not out still? I keep checking the Marketplace, but it’s nowhere to be found.

@BostonJeremy77 I checked the news post about it again and they changed quite a bit and said now out via marketplace on 27th!
Extremely misleading by PR team but at least know is coming!

I juat can’t wait to explore the Flying Eye Hospital but I need a be patient 
So is it going to be flyable or just a sim of the hospital inside?
It’s not flyable. It’s just scenery.

Shocked that this only has 16 votes. This particular DC-10 actually has the flight deck avionics of the MD-11. Would absolutely love to see this made flyable.

I’m sure a lot of us want a DC-10 in the sim - just not one made by Asobo.
Thus the lack of votes for this wishlist item.

That’s my main thing - I am not really all that excited by Asobo aircraft.
I’d rather have a FedEx cargo MD10 that’s flyable the Current Orbis aircraft I never use anyway
i think it cen be set by repainting. i really want to see dc-10 as flyable
The only thing I care about that plane is fix the stupid movement controls…
is it possible for any developer take the model and make it flyable?

There has been a perfectly modeled DC-10 in the sim since the beginning, when can we fly it in this Flight Simulator?
