Here’s another little project from my son that you might be interested in.
Looks good for VFR flyers.
Do they replace the ugly photogrammetry tin power lines, in the TIN cities ?
Just installed for MSFS2020, flying low out of Denver, apparently there are no power lines in Denver…LOL! Not sure what I’m doing wrong yet and Orbx makes it very difficult to contact them. Also, they charged my card in Australian dollars. Their website needs a little work. You also have to install Orbx Central, to download the app and it takes over the installation. Not a fan of that idea, I’d prefer to do that myself.
Some towers intentionally omit wires to reduce visual issues specific to FS2020. If needed, you can easily switch back to default models or remove the add-on using the built-in management tool.
Probably because of frames rates / it can also cause stutters if resources hungry.
Nothing new to me recently indeed, I had just support from ORBX, 3 mails back and suddenly is solved the issue. Well Asobo just does the same as I seen in the last months.
They do not have any QA(Quality Assurance).
You pay and get nothing, maybe you might be some kind of alpha tester for them unvoluntarly, better give the money to Charity.
Just my 5 Cents.
I’ve used Orbx Central for several years and always found it to work pretty flawlessly as long as you follow the on-screen instructions correctly. I’m a bit disappointed to see that some of my 2020 products won’t be converted to 2024 (particularly the Orbx meshes) but most stuff got converted and was easy to re-enable in the sim. If you have both 2020 and 2024 installed, you can toggle between them. Orbx’s prices are also very good compared to many other marketplaces. Central tells you what you’ll pay in your own currency and then charges you in Australian dollars, that’s the same for everyone I think. I then just check paypal to make sure the currency conversion was correct.
Finally! Towers and wires showing up. Must have needed some fermentation time or something. Next test: flying under the wires…

Got to be done. It`s a thing right!!
Has anyone directly compared this to the free powerlines mod that’s been on flightsim.to for a couple of years? Both in terms of visuals and performance impact.
The wires are not connected to the next pole/tower. They are cut off a bit out from the pole.
I too am interested in this comparison… I have the free mod which works well but is not totally perfect.
Like everything else in this world
Total perfection do not exist
TBH if it doesn’t offer significant advantages over the Mamudesign add-on, I don’t see why I would buy it, and I’m a long-term Orbx customer. Would rather see them working on converting or getting their third parties to convert more stuff over to 2024.
In the paid mod? On the Screenshots it all looks joined up and pretty good. But you’ve actually tried it?
I’ve only tried it in Msfs 2020. All the pictures above is cut just before the lines ends. Fourth picture shows it well. Look in the trees. Lines are thining at the end and then cut off. But you should be able to see it in almost every picture.
You also need to choose between 10 different low poles and 10 high towers. (With or without powerlines). So depending on where you fly, you need to know which model that country uses, if you want it to be as correct as possible.
Ooh I see what you mean, I was looking in the wrong place. Yeah that’s kind of lame. Also the “choosing” thing, that’s kind of strange. Guess I’ll stick with the free one, thanks.
