Hey, does anyone else get this message when moving community files?
I can’t move or copy anything with out getting this error message.
I have tried changing permissions but nothing works.
PS ( this has been going on for over a year so for the nitpickers forget about the date on the attachment it does it with every file so this is just an example)
“unstoppable copier” is an option too. The PMDG 737-700 installer doesn’t give any choice of where it is installed. I use MSFSAddonlinker so I didn’t want it in the community folder. After the PMDG installer put the aircraft and OPS Center in the community folder, I used the Unstoppable Copier to move the files into my storage drive without issue. Worth a shot if the zip thing, and permission thing doesn’t work for you.
This is normal.
Search for Symbolic Links or Windows Symbolic Junction.

Yeah, the good old Total Commander did it, thank you FlightPplanes for the heads-up! Pretty stupid, though, that a glitch like this locks your files from you on your computer…

How can I solve the issue?
I think it’s linked to the encryption status of a drive. The way I have been able to get around it (a tip picked up on this board somewhere) is by archiving the folder I want to transfer in a .RAR format and then moving it over before decompressing in the new location.
It is also possible to circumvent this problem as follows: If the zip-files of the addons are still available, you can unzip them directly in the MSFS 2024 community folder. It works!
But first must be ensured that the addons are compatible with MSFS 2024.
