OurAirports - Useful Website?

I don’t know if this site is widely known in this community already and I am, not unusually, several light years behind the drag curve but I found it useful whilst planning my county by county trip around Ireland. I couldn’t find a reference to it on the Forum so thought I’d pass on the link in the hope that others may find it handy too. Allegedly 67, 000 plus airports/fields/strips listed - although I haven’t counted them yet .

Very useful thank you!

You know you could widen this post, (or start a new one) where people can share useful websites & apps.
I have an entire Bookmark folder of useful flight Websites.

Please use “Search” - that website has twenty previous cross-references.

Thanks!

Hmmm why not simply use SkyVector? It has much more data and proper maps…?
Or do I miss some unique advantage of this website (apart from the pointless twitter feed)?

Tell me if I am wrong, normally do get it wrong, isnt sky Vector only for the US.

You’re wrong

I used Our Airports as the DB in my flight planner. It is fairly complete, although there are airports in MSFS not in OA and vice-versa.

Airnav is what I use

SkyVector has airport charts, plates, etc for the US only. I do believe it has other information for the whole world though.

Why not use SkyVector? SkyVector lists 32 ‘airports’ for the whole of the RoI whereas OA lists 114. In Co Donegal Skyvector has 2 entries, OA - 10. If I wanted to fly, in Donegal, between Donegal and Letterkenny that would be fine - but I don’t. Where on SkyVector would I find Carrigart Airstrip, Finn Vally Airfield, Drumavish Strip, Coulter’s Strip, Russell’s Field etc, and the couple of disused airstrips that are interesting to locate from the air and actually touch down on.

Put simply, SkyVector doesn’t suit my ‘bush flying’ needs.

I did ‘search’ but came up with nothing. Obviously didn’t configure the search correctly.
