One of the biggest problems for me (and the reason I don’t bother with HDR) is the oversaturation\overexposure of clouds and terrain when viewed from certain angles - most annoyingly from within the cockpit looking horizontally. I understand that the sim tries to replicate the eye, so if you’re looking at the dark interior, the outside appears bright - but - I’m not focussing on one part of my screen. If I position the camera so I get a good mix of instruments and outside everything outside is too bright. The same is inexplicably true with the outside view. Look from above the aircraft and everything is balanced. Move the camera to the horizontal or further and everything below becomes a bright white blur. I’d like to see the horizon instead of just a thick white line. I personally think the clouds still look great, but I’d like to be able to see them! In HDR the effect is amplified - can’t see any detail at all.
This can’t be too hard to switch off? And yes I have fiddled with the usercfg to no effect.
