P-51 engine complete loss of power - happens every flight

This should be fixed in the upcoming SU15:

Er - no. The P51 (or at least Man-o’ war) still refuses to throttle up past idle. I have kept the original (which dies after 15 minutes or so no matter how well I treat the engine) so at least i can revert to that. It is a bug in fuelling because if I switch tanks and view the weight menu from the top of screen I can see current tank draining in seconds into any others.
Urgently (long overdue) needs proper investigation and fix or even setting up unrealisticaly to have unlimited fuel or something.

The throttle problem is fixed in the latest SU15 beta version and P-51 package on the content manager. I tested all of the P-51s yesterday.

The fuel return line to the left wing tank probably still has a problem (it’s fast) but if you run the left tank for 5 minutes and then switch to another tank for 5 minutes to refill the left tank then you can keep repeating this to run through all of the fuel in the plane.

So when the beta becomes mainstream I can expect it to work - good news - not so good about changing tanks every 5 minutes - akward with track i/r and mouse.
Any idea when it will be in the main sim?

I did a flight from London to Europe, no issue with the fuel tank switching actually. I thought the feedback rate was too fast into the left tank before but it doesn’t seem that ridiculous after doing a long flight. Switching the tanks often and keeping balance between part of flying the P-51 according to the manuals. I use Track/IR and mouse as well and it’s not difficult at all to switch tanks. You may need to do some tuning on your trackIR profile to allow yourself to look around the cockpit easier.

I think SU15 is supposed to be toward the end of this month.

Iv’e had this problem for months now hope its fixed next update, as i reported it many months ago but had no responce back. Which is pretty poor.

I just tested it in latest su15 beta and it’s still broken.

Oh wait there’s a Reno update. I’ll get back to you.

I am running the current release at time of posting. (no beta) I am running the basic Reno package with only the single p-51 (speedy)

in basic free flight, I have found that as long as I keep the manifold pressure below 34 and the rpm below 27 the engine will not cut out. Also, I make sure to select a tank with fuel.

I gradully have to increase the throttle setting to keep the MP between 30 and 34 as I gain altitude. At 16000 ft the supercharger blower kicks in automatically and the MP jumps up to 46. as you gain altitude you can continue to increase throttle setting to keep the manifold pressure between 30 and 34.

I bet the real thing is more forgiving that that
