Requesting a P8 Poseidon for the 737

I really don’t know what you can do about it. I doubt pmdg will do it (separate model / livery), but you can ask them on 737 thread or in their forums.
Unless someone makes a separate p8 model, I suspect you are out of luck. Or some third-party will have to create a pmdg 738 livery which looks like a p8. But i think pmdg doesn’t allow thirdparties to sell liveries of their aircraft.

They stated many times they won’t do it. P8 is classified. They would not be able to model its performance, flight characteristic and systems properly. Even if it looks like 737 I doubt it performs in flight similar to the civilian version.
It’s a perfect job for Captain Sim, they like to develop planes with made up physics and systems.
I’d take a, captain sims. I don’t care if physics are real. Just nice to have a huge library of many aircraft is my preference. But being on Xbox, there’s limits
May be ask bredock3d then, they have a 737 model, they might do it. But not sure if they will, I THINK the demand will be pretty low since the pmdg 737s are out.
I have a buddy who is an active P8 pilot and I’ve done shared cockpit with him in the 737. Other than the junk they throw in the back for ASW and other military ops, it’s largely still the same plane that SWA or RYR flies, maybe a little heavier with all the special equipment…maybe. I can’t recall off the top of my head if he said the P8 cockpit had something the commercial version didn’t but I don’t recall any complaints like “ugh this stupid pmdg version doesn’t have this feature like on my plane” or “it flies nothing like the real plane.”
When we run our checks throughout the flight and the performance and other things we rig up is based on USN SOP, as that is what he is used to. Based on our conversations, the differences for flying a P8 is similar to a civilian 737 is similar to that of flying a 737 for Delta and flying one for United: little changes based on what some suit at corporate HQ thinks needs to happen.
All the same, given the P8 has hard points for missiles and torpedos, I’d rather see it made for DCS in high fidelity so I can do the boom boom aspect of it, with multi-seat for the different positions in a P8 like the guy watching the radar for subs or shooting the missiles at tagets. There’d be no point for this in MSFS if we want to keep our ESRB/PEGI ratings…
Internally no, but PMDG gave us an exterior model slapped on top a 738 back in P3D. I put far more miles on that bird flying around the Pacific than I did any of the civilian variants. But unfortunately present-day they would rather keep to their stickler egos and preach about MuH rEaLiSm and give BS reasons like “we don’t do visual only models anymore” instead of just giving us what we want.
From the way it looks, we may get a P-8 model within the iFly 737 package. Because afterall, if PMDG won’t do it, someone else will.
