  • I experienced it at YBCG Gold Coast, Australia.

My approach was rwy 14 at about 1000Z.

I added the word “Flash” to the video just before the lights flash.

• used KAPF as OP, runway 05 and runway 14/32, PAPI lights were not blinking
(ms-store, RTX2060)

I just did another test at YBCG and the PAPI and runway lights blinked momentarily just before the threshold.

Perhaps it’s related to our graphics settings?
I’m away from, my PC at the moment, I’ll list mine as soon as I can. Could you list yours so I can compare? Thank you.

Yes.

It’s not at all regular blinking (like a pulsating VASI). But PAPI light size seems to change as if the sim wanted to set a smaller light one one then back to the wider one, then few seconds later did the change again.

Wow! Too many differences to identify a cause. Maybe a few more settings from others might help…

I’m seeing pretty much what @Vincent1064 described. It’s not a steady blinking off/on, but just occasional quick blink off/on with a slight change in light intensity.
This was on KAPF, RWY05 during daylight hours.

Just had this happened to me landing in YBBN. First time noticing it. As others said it’s not a steady blink but random. Daytime hours too.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

Is it me or it seems to be fixed in the 1.4.11.0 ? I’ve just made 2 test flights without this artefact.

I’ll have to give it some more testing, but I replicated my approach from my earlier comment, and I didn’t see any blinking of the PAPIs. Unfortunately, my beloved 930 is suffering from excessive reflections and heat blur at the moment. I’ll give it a try in the 172 later. That should give me a better view, and more time to watch the lights. But this issue seems to be absent so far.

Edit: I’ve tried several other aircraft and several other airports and haven’t seen a reoccurrence of this issue. This is still a fairly small sample size, so can’t definitively say the issue is resolved. But I’ll take this so far…
