Welcome to the 184th flight event with Gunpilot and a whole bunch of other like-minded sim pilots. If you have just discovered these flight events for the first time, welcome aboard and you will be made to feel very much at home with the rest of the pilots on the flight.
The only request we make is that you arrive on the tarmac in the aircraft designated for the flight, and you join in the banter on the supplied COMMS RADIO which can be found in Gunpilot’s Discord server (click on this link to take you directly to Gunpilot’s server GUNPILOT’s Server ).
This weeks flight details:
Embark on the ultimate airborne adventure with our Golf Air Safari across Southern California, where you’ll play 18 handpicked golf courses in and around Hollywood. Flying the STOL XCub Xtreme, an aircraft built for precision landings and quick stops on short fairways and putting greens, you’ll conquer each course in style. From teeing off to sinking putts, every course offers a unique thrill. One unforgettable highlight is landing next to the iconic Hollywood Sign, setting the stage for a surreal golfing experience high above Tinseltown. This safari promises more than just great golf, it’s a chance to soar across Southern California’s breathtaking landscapes, blending a great scenic flight with fairway finesse.
This challenging round of golf pushes every pilot to their limits, demanding precision not only on the greens but in the air. Expect landings in off-course terrains, perched dam walls, an idle glide, and scenic stretches between the 18 courses, perfect for testing your landing skills. As well, in the early few legs of the flight we will probably have to contend with some of the LA "June Gloom" which will see us having to contend with low lying sea fog.
With every course in a new and picturesque location, this isn’t just a round of golf—it’s an epic test of skill, endurance, and adventure for both golfers and aviators alike.
This event adds an exciting twist, as each pilot will maintain a personal scorecard, tracking their performance at all 18 holes. If you land on the correct fairway and taxi onto the green, you’ll score 0. Stick the perfect landing on the green and come to a complete stop on all three wheels without rolling off the green, and you’ll record -1. However, the stakes are high—land on the wrong fairway or green, roll through the back of a green, touch a bunker or water hazard on approach, or crash, and you’ll mark +1 on your card. Special challenges between courses, announced by Gunpilot, offer the chance to lower your running score. The pilot with the lowest total score at the end of the flight will be crowned the Hollywood Pro-Am winner for this round of Par Avion.

*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link GUNPILOT’s Server ) to be taken there. Extract file into your Community Folder prior to launching your sim for the flight.
