As the title says, I have noticed that Asobo are injecting passive Aircraft into the sim, even when I’ve turned all traffic options off, I need no traffic injecting so that I can use AIG traffic Injector. But I have looked through the files of the sim and noticed that there are passive aircraft and a lot of them situated in the streamed packages folder and they are being used in the sim regardless of settings.
I cannot see any way of disabling these models as turning off the traffic.bgl file does not work like it does in MSFS 2020, although I have deleted the file and it has not returned upon restarting the sim, the models are still in the sim.
This may explain CPU spikes and increased VRAM usage when it is not necessary on some systems.
I am seeing the injected AS-GEN Generic models parked at neighbouring airfields, when I look at the information in the STATUS tab of AIG Traffic Injector, BEFORE I inject any AIG models.
Currently I am sat in the TBM930 at EGDL (RAF LYNEHAM, UK) and looking on the map of the AIG Injector, there are 59 Asobo Passive Aircraft parked at several airfields close by. All static it would seem, as I’ve not seen any movement from them at all in the last half hour.
There has to be some way of getting these models to disappear.
That’s the thing, there are never any passive aircraft at the airfield that I am situated at and yes they are there when I fly by. It happens at other airfields too, though the amount of passive aircraft can differ greatly.
When you simply fly by (and don’t land for a closer inspection), these planes are shown at a very low LOD, so they should not have any noticeable impact on your CPU or GPU including VRAM.
Are you certain those are not simply Asobo models being injected by AIG itself? Have you tried running the sim without AIG, then spawning into different airfield and looking to see if there are any AI aircraft spawning?
I have yes, even before I start the injection process of AIG they are there within an instant of pressing the fly now button. Nothing is being injected by AIG at that point.
The answer is in the post immediately above yours. Turning of “AI Traffic” will not eliminate the static aircraft. You must turn off “TRAFFIC AIRPORT QUALITY”. I did that quite some time ago and have not seen a single static aircraft anywhere in MSFS 2024 since.
No the answer is not that. I HAVE turned airport quality to off along with aircraft quality also the setting in the online section to off.
You won’t see any traffic because what I have noticed happening is that in the immediate vicinity of your aircraft you will not see anything, but further afield there are Asobo generic models being generated at several airports close by. It’s as if there is no traffic within your bubble but they are definitely being generated outside of this bubble, as shown on the AIG map.
I still believe your problem is AIG-related - AIG is spawning in that traffic using Asobo generic models, which is why you’re seeing it on the AIG map. Try spawning in without using AIG at all, setting your Drone cam speed to 250 and flying over to nearby fields to look.
I suppose the question is, do the statics remain there as you get nearer to that location? If there are generated aircraft models well outside your bubble and they disappear as your bubble moves, then you won’t see them, and they shouldn’t take much in the way of resources.
I haven’t used AIG for a long time and not in 2024, but perhaps this is a side-effect of their injection method? Long shot but Kai over on the AIG forums might be able to speculate on the cause?
Agree that you should be able to properly turn all statics off in the sim.
I’m wondering if something else is going on with my setup, because I have noticed that if I set for example graphics preset high, the live traffic appears, as the corresponding aircraft and airport traffic quality settings are turned back on, even though I have traffic in the online section of the settings in the sim set to off, that’s weird enough, but I then cannot get rid of those same aircraft when I turn both the ai traffic graphics options back to off again.
Have you checked, what kind a models those are? This is a guess, but i think those are gliders. MSFS2024 will inject gliders all over the world but you can disable those:
content manager
search glider
disable all three variations of “gliders worldwide”.
