Fair opinion. I disagree. I was looking forward to the title and was glad it was released when it did. $120 for this is nothing compared to every other offering available. Like I said, I have ten times this invested in DCS and although difficult to compare is not anywhere close in many categories.
Obviously everyone is looking forward to patches and fixes, I just don’t know why the expectation is that its perfect on day 1.

Did you read the patch notes one week ago?
You know what’s coming this week.
Those posts make me angry.

If this is what you know to be true of products, why didn’t you wait to purchase and read the reviews and forums before doing so.
If you are an early adopter, you will get early adopter problems.

Ohh… I get it… over hype the product, cash in early and if that fails use the old get out jail free card… click the magic button and go back to what works. Way to show confidence in your product. Obviously a person who likes pictures and promises and is willing to pay for the fantasy.
Enjoy the eye candy.
I didn’t hype anything, it’s not my product. I own them all. I’m a fan of flight period. This product is a great start to a good addition to that hobby and community.
Look at any other day 1 release of all the other products.

Here’s the thing - this isn’t early access, beta, or alpha.
I’m not an early adopter. I’m a retail customer

Anyone who buys a product (retail) day 1 is an early adopter by definition.
early acces, beta and alpha would be testers.
Ok. So was a new patch created? And if so, what all is included in it? And does it auto update when the game starts? I am very anxious about them fixing the Nav system and the auto pilot altitude wackyness.
not in this patch, this is mostly for people having trouble with simconnect and installation
I don’t mind getting into the weeds over this. I have a different opinion.
At the end of the day, the context of this post was expecting everything to be fixed on the first patch and leaving FS 2020 over it.
The reply is fine, then go, but you’ll be missing something great IMO.
You act like the product is unusable, but I have a very bug free usable flight posted above that shines in comparison to most offerings.
It’s not perfect, I explain some of the challenges in the video, particularly with taxiing. But as experiences go compared to actually flying that route. Pretty tops in my books especially on day 1.

Why share your purchasing choices and valuation of the sim here on the MSFS forums? Everyone here played the sim already. They can see it for themselves right? It’s not like you can warn potential new customers here.
Existing users want useful information, no rants. Don’t make everything about yourself.

I understand It’s all good . We are turning this into an avsim thread anyway lol.

Just mentioned this in another post, but it seems like (and we may disagree on the numbers here) that everyone expected 100 percent with the hype, we got 80 but some are saying we got 0.
I just don’t think we have 0, thats all. Nor do I expect 100. A continuing commitment to the development towards 100 is a good ask, and I see MS doing that. Only time will tell, so arguing one way or the other on that point is pointless.
We can only agree to disagree that the number in the middle is different for all of us, but the flight posted above very clearly shows we didn’t get 0.
Happy flying, or leaving if this isn’t your cup of tea.

You probably need to have owned flight simulator since version 4 or 5 to truly enjoy and recognize what an incredibly sim this is. Back in the 90’s we had to wait sometimes 6-12 months before a patch was released which needed a complete new purchase with hard earned savings as a teenager. On a 1.44" diskette.
Dispite its current shortcomings and bugs I never have been more filled with excitement when looking out of the window of my virtual airplane. It has been 15 years since a last flew in the computer. This truly is as real as it gets (by the way, this is the slogan Microsoft already choose in the nineties hahaha…how ignorant we/they were!!)

I wish we had a sticky post that lists players who rage quit. It would be fun to poke that list once a while to see what they are playing…

What I do see a lot of, and to be clear I’m not labeling anyone in this thread as being this, just as an observation in general is simmers from other genres like X-Plane and P3d (not so much DCS as we’re all cool over there
) hating on this because it’s MS.
And that comes from a long history of an attitude that has always lingered especially with X-Plane. It doesn’t help that FS 2020 has introduced a whole new generation of people to flight simulators that are just gamers.
No one wants the casual gamer to stroll in last second and have the better sim kind of attitude. So lets hate on it and tell everyone who’s enjoying it how bad it really is if your hardcore like me and into flight models and study level aircraft.
I think there is room in this community to accept casual gamers, even code for them, and provide a broad platform for 3’rd parties to develop study level aircraft for simmers.
We can all use and share that same sim environment without losing fidelity.
Have a gripe about it? Then be specific. Because there is a lot of ■■■■■■■■, but once we get into the weeds about the specifics, it looks more like what I explained above than actual facts.
Again, its not all right at the moment, but the work I see them doing is far superior to any other system currently available. Maybe that’s just potential that will never come to fruition, but maybe its not. And the last potential is very exciting for a genre that doesn’t get much excitement.

Maybe people are just pissed that they were basically lied to about this software.
