PC-12 Lower MFD shut off and won't restart

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The lower MFD malfunctioned mid flight leaving me with zero information regarding fuel levels, trim, etc. I tried cycling both av master, switches etc, all other screens turn off and restart as appropriate but the lower MFD will not. I adjusted lighting and anything else that I could think of with no result. The autopilot panel is also without lighting now.

Did you turn the standby bus on the overhead panel on? That’s what powers the lower display.

If you are flying a mission and have a malfunction, more than likely it will remain off for the remainder of your flight. You will then need to manage your plane and make repairs after mission completion…if it does not bug out on you.

I tried everything up to and including shutting the plane off mid-flight to re-run the checklist. Both the lower MFD and Baro shut off and would flash on when switching between interior and exterior views. I adjusted all brightness knobs and such. I ended up finishing the flight in exterior view so that I could monitor fuel/flaps/trim etc.

• Lower MFD shuts off on free flights too.

I’ve had this happen twice now after 3 or 3.5hrs of increased sim-rate flying time (45 minutes? hour? real time) on medium cargo missions, maybe more. After the first one, the alternator was on to-maintain, but after the second one it, and everything else, was still pretty good or new looking.

The auto pilot panel lights go dark, but they all still respond and auto pilot works normally.

I have this issue too.
It after some time 5-6 hour on standart sim rate, the central low MFD, Backup horizont and Autopillot panel get off and it not possible start them again until restart the flight.

Same problem! MFD turns off, Autopoliot panel goes dark. 5 hour flight is ruined now!!!

Is there any update? Someone from team monitors this?

Same problem for me!
Lower MFD, autopilot panel, top panel and button light all go dark! Imagine in a night flght without light indicator on autopilot buttons, it’s a disaster!

• Same issue. Let me explain below.
I have accepted a VIP mission and it takes 6 hours of flight. After I cruise over 5 hours in career mode, the lower MFP, MCP(Autopilot panel) light, backup instruments and panel lights are all blacked out.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Some says to follow the procedure of aircraft, and check the maintenance. First, I’ve turned on all buses, generators, batteries, and even EPS. I also checked the maintenance of the aircraft. Second, I have also checked the maintenance. I have encountered this problem twice. When in first time, I skipped to descent and landed. After the mission, I have checked the electronics maintenance, and everything is okay. When in second time, I fixed everything about electronics to brand new, and then, the screen blackout at around the 5th flight hour. After landing, I found that the alternator is ‘to maintain’. It was brand new before take off.
Also, I have to indicate that I have installed the mod from flightsim.to to fix the oxygen problem, otherwise, this aircraft cannot even fly 5 hours at FL190.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I also have installed the oxygen fix from flightsim.to. Maybe this problem has something to to with it? Cause I’ve flown the PC-12 for months, and didn’t see problem until I installed the oxygen fix.

• Yes

• Multi-hour flight: lower MFD, backup instruments, autopilot indicator lights all went black. Probably everything on the same electrical bus.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

In flight lower MFD went black. Also all other cockpit lights, panel lights, taxi lights and landing light u/s. Tried all the knob and rotary switches

Was a brand new plan with all the maintenance done
Managed to land it on a runway in bad weather in career.
Gt dinged for landing without landing light (duh)

Think i deserved a ribbon for landing it without any lighting but go punished back to C.

Experiencing same issue on Xbox Series X. Have encountered several times regardless of sim rate. Consistently occurs after 4-6 hours of flight time.

Just had this issue in SU2 1.4.16 as well. Display brightness is 100%. I tried turning it all the way down/off to get reversion mode but it doesn’t change anything.

Be nice if we had reversion modes or if MFD swap worked.

however, I found a work-around. right-ALT+click on lower MFD to pop it out:

Images of the issue including overhead panel, and I did power off avionics and bring it back up, etc.

ZGHA to VABI
MFD shut down again about 1.5 hours from destination airport with a 6.5hr flight. As you can see the emergency attitude indicator shuts off too and the lights go out on the autopilot. However, underneath the “off” lights on AP the functions still work.
This is every time in Career VIP mode - can’t say about cargo as the pc-12 missions dont tend to be this long.

So I think I might have an idea about the blank MFD screen in PC12. See picture which gives Nm 2023. PC 12 does not fly that far!

So after 4.26hrs - all good

After 5.25 Hrs, lower MFD went blank, emergency attitude indicator went off and AP lights went off. Message in PFD said DGRD in orange. (I do not know how to cancel that or what it means)

AND got UNABLE RNP in upper MFD

I know I had to load fuel mid flight - so I am wondering whether the FMS just cannot compute the extra fuel Vs NM travelled (or I don’t know how to do that despite clicking reset fuel button).

However, I do know that the MFD should not be going blank after 5.25hrs as that is still within the range of this plane. My mission took 7hr 41min as I had to skirt a rather large restricted airspace.
