I also found a setting in the assistances menu, which I had no idea was there, which was on that controlled autothrottle - and I have switched off. So far, the throttles have not died a death. Woohoo

That’s looking much better nice speed over the ground as well

- this helped me to get the bird airborne (via keyboard) and manage the thrust during the flight
