Hey all sorry to bother.
I’m coming from console and am a total newbie in regards to PC components and specs.
I’m looking to go for the VR experience, in your opinion would this PC give good performance?
Hi
I reckon (having bought a new gaming set-up from Scorptec) you may need 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. where MS will prob install and access most. Also make sure your power supply is good (850KW e.g.) Just that this sim eats RAM, and once you start loading up scenery and aircraft, it will eat more!!
Cost?
Check out MWAVE, Sydney
Also PC Cas Gear down in Vic,
I purchased a Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX3080ti, 32GB 3600 ram, 2 x 1 TB NvME SSD’s , liquid cooled from Mwave, for about A$6000 about 8 months ago…have just checked prices…they are now dropping.
this one above is down to 1999 from 3999 apparently so that why it caught my eye but now after doing some research i dont think its quite good enough for what im after. i reckon 32gb ram and 3060ti at a minimum.
I recommend a desktop PC because you’ll get better performance for the same price and it will be upgradeable. If you need to buy a so-called gaming laptop, get it with at least a rtx3070 or better gpu, preferably 3080 imho. You probably won’t be getting that for under ~aud$4,000, lol!
I wouldn‘t touch Dell with gloves… they usually save money at critical parts like PSU or RAM sticks. Alienware used to build good PCs but that was before it became Dell and the name is deceptive now.
thanks for the advice guys, after some research i’m thinking intel i7, gtx3080 and 32gb ram. reverb g2.
a fair jump considering all the costs but i feel if im going to do it, i shouldnt halfass it
that’s a good collection there. Next is the hardware to fly. Not sure of your budget, but to fly ‘well’ and depending on what you want to fly, I would look at yoke/joystick, some throttle quadrant/arrangement and rudder pedals as a minimum. These will let you fly most types.
Other peripherals like radios. second joysticks etc…down the track..not so critical
