PC Spec v FPS Question

Hi All

I’m Looking for a bit of peer-to-peer support and/or a sanity check regarding my system if this is possible.

I seem to be struggling with framerate, and I’m not sure whether this is expected with my system at the level of graphics I’ve selected in Sim.

Specs-wise, I have the following:

PC Specs:

  • Intel i9-9900K on a Aorus Z390 I Pro Wifi motherboard
  • 64GB Corsair Vengeance Ram, 2x32, 3600mhz DDR4
  • RTX3070 Gigabyte, Eagle OC 8GB
  • Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB PCIe NVMe M.2
  • 2x LG QHD Monitors (27QN600)
  • Windows 11

I am running the latest Nvidia drivers, and my system has been updated. In the background, I am running the:

  • Navigraph Chart App
  • SimToolkitPro
  • BeyondATC experimental

All air traffic in the sim is off, and ground traffic is set to low values. Air traffic is being injected by BeyondATC (level 5 sliders) and I am using FSTL aircraft, but with textures dropped to 1024.

In my system, my CPU is most definitely holding me back, and looking at the MSFS framerate widget; I see the constraint by the main thread message.

The MSFS settings are set to ultra across the board (render distance 100), but I can only seem to get 30fps at best and, at times, are down to 18/19fps when coming in to land. I almost exclusively fly the Bonanza and/or A2A Comanche

So my question to the hive mind is:

Is this to be expected, or might you expect a better framerate?

Given your dated system specs (good RAM spec though) driving two 1440p monitors and maximised MSFS settings, I’d say it is to be expected. Try high or even medium MSFS settings, especially TLOD, and see if it improves.
