My pc specs are:
Gigabyte 4080
Gigabyte aorus b650 mainboard with 32 gb ram ddr5

Got the Pimax crystal light this week but am struggling to get good frame rates. Tried both the settings Steve Walton posted for 4070ti and even those found on the Pimax blog.
Mainly I fly airliners but for the sake of it I tried even GA like the duke. Am getting intermittent stutters and fps does not go up more than 40.
On static images such as the main screen I get screen tearing. Don’t think it’s the case of a faulty headset as even with my q3 had issues getting stable connection.
Hoping 2024 will fix most issues in vr.
Yeah i have this issue also! Did you try just to minimize all the windows to the taskbar when you are flying? This helps for me, stuttering stops immediately, but i dont have a mouse to work with in the cockpit
There is no magic here - VR requires huge resolutions and even the strongest PCs struggle.
For Crystal the 100% resolution is 4312 x 5102 x 2 (higher than physical panel resolution due to the need for lens distortion correction). This gives you 44 millons pixels. For comparison one 4k display requires 8 millions pixels. So Crystal at full res is an equivalent of more than 5 4k displays (or 20 full HD displays).
You need to reduce the resolution generated by the sim. The method I use on 4090 is to enable DLSS quality. With 4080 you may need to go to DLSS balanced.
Disable frame rate eaters like Clouds Ultra, drop to High. Reduce TLOD, no more than 100.
Disable FPS counter and just fly. For a civilian plane, without abrupt maneuvers you can still have decent VR experience in the 35-45 FPS range. 45 FPS would be optimal as it is half of the headset refresh rate.

I don’t own a CL but you’ve a good strong computer and the state of 2020 VR is as good as it’s ever been so I would like to think there is some setting that you’ve overlooked. Hopefully a CL user will see this and help out.
The PCL has many teething problems, they should release a stable good version before I consider buying 1.
