PC12 call sign

While flying the PC12 I get call sign “CARENADO”, I have been looking as to where I can change this to “PILATUS” but, haven’t found where.
Can anyone point me in the righr direction, please.

It’s probably in the livery file.

Thanks, I think it is one of the liveries that came with the download, I willl have a look and see if I can find it.

Aircraft config file

Thanks, I will have a look.

If you find out how please post it. Before one of these latest updates I believe it did call itself Pilatus on the radio.

See above.

Dumb question time. Have been looking for the aircraft config file but not sure where it it can anyone please point me in the right direction, I am running steam.

In your Community file-Carenado aircraft pc12 or something like that- SimObjects- Airplanes- Carenado pc12, within that you will find Aircraft cfg

I was also looking for it and i know where it usually is, but it‘s definately not where it should be for the carenado pc-12.

As it‘s only downloadable from the marketplace it is not within the community folder, it‘s one folder level down and then within packages (at least with the steam version). But as written above, there‘s no aircraft config where is should be…

I agree with you

If you bought the plane in the marketplace and are looking for the aircraft.cfg you’re probably outa luck because they encrypt them.

Otherwise, the directory for Steam is:
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Official\Steam\carenado-aircraft-pc12

However, I know that some things, like the hanger info, is pulled from the aircraft.cfg file from the default livery. Maybe the same works for radio. I showed here how you can do that:

There are also no aircraft.cfg within the livery folders. I think we are out of luck here…

The aircraft.cfg is a standard format so you can create a livery package and create an appropriate aircraft.cfg for the plane for the livery.

As noted in @ENON2058 post, Liveries are ordered alphabetically, so just name the plane folder containing the aircraft.cfg file and texture files 00_carenado_PC12_whatever so it’s first, and then the call sign from the livery will be used. Obviously, you can change the manufacturer to Pilatus as well instead of Carenado (if that’s how it’s labeled) so it shows up in your hangar in the right slot, too. Etc. etc.

Don’t forget the

[VARIATION]
base_container = “..<Aircraft_Package_Name>”

section so it knows what plane to connect to… (if the livery already works, it should already have this section).

The call sign is controlled by the

atc_type =
atc_model =

sections. See the default aircraft for examples. If you use the TT_ etc. etc. stuff, the manufacturer and model must be in the “I forget” base file definitions in the One Source\fs-base directory. You can edit that file to add new definitions, but it gets overwritten with every update.

I’ll fix the post when I get home to my MSFS computer.

Proof right here that you shouldn’t buy Carenado and other vendors that insist on only selling on the Marketplace. If people keep buying they will keep up these practices of making things hard for us. Buy from vendors that you know will end up giving you everything as a community folder installation and things like this become so much easier.
