I love that this game has cars, ships and animals but would it be possible to add people? I know most people are probably 10.000 feet up in the air and enjoying the world from above but i love to fly close over cities and the one thing that kills the immersion for me is a planet without any human life. So would it be possible from a technical standpoint to have some people running around at least in cities so they are not simply lifeless dystopian areas?
It hopefully won’t surprise you to know that short of large gatherings of people (airshows for example), you cannot see pedestrians from the air anyway unless you’re literally 100ft above the ground.
The Samscene New York scenery has lots of people in Time Square but it is kind of pointless. Its a notionally fun thing I guess.
There are now tons of airports and airfield scenery add ons that have people in them and thats probably as much as you’d ever really need in the sim for that extra bit of immersion, if thats what you like.
There’s also some add ons out there that put them out in the country but again its kind of pointless. Even flying low and slow with a helicopter you still struggle to see them.
I don’t really see the point in them in cities when cities look terrible close up anyway.
I have a feeling this would take/be a big hit to performance, more so if they was animated.
A guy who has add-on on flightsim.to with animated characters, says that having to many characters with animations in one place can cause performance issue’s.
Was going to echo this. From all of the flights I can recall I don’t think I ever actually ‘saw people’. You’re moving so quickly and are focusing on certain things as you pass by that people don’t register. If there would be anything like how they are depicted from GSX or airports, I’ll pass.
Also to add a side blurb, people having as many performance issues across the board as they are and yet we’re still asking to add things that would affect performance. Smart thing to do would to be eliminate issues and work on performance until everyone has 30 FPS minimum across the board and THEN talk about adding wishlists or features.
