Hi everyone, I must state I absolutely love this game. However!
Since I got 2024 I am spending more and more time rebooting the game, half way through a flight and game crashes, my X56 works great however there is a glitch in that sometimes the plane just turns off mid flight. Just problem after problem.
I have a medium set up with a Desktop PC Nvidea geforce RTX4070Ti Super alongside a AMD ryzen7- 78003XD processor. With 64Gb Ram, i even have 1gb internet on ethernet.
It seems my set up cant keep up with this game, is it me or is it the MSFS2024.
Every other game is a doddle for this set up. But MSFS 2024 is a nightmare.
I’m sorry i’m probably just venting but seriously this game is so frustrating. I cant fly a larger plane due to the system not keeping up.
Is it really me and my system or is it Msfs 2024. I don’t remember having any of these issue in 2020.
All i want to do is fly a plane from a to b without crashes, flights stopping mid flight, engines not turning off mid flight. and have at least a medium range of graphics.
Anyone in this same boat?
Paul
Just read the beta threads and the SU5 update. You are definately not alone!
Just today, I flew a 172 around Monaco, stutters present. (RTX 5080) In a 172 of all aircraft - sad but true!
What are your monitor specs? One thing to realize is that every other game is a controlled scenario. MSFS is a world simulator and a flight simulator. No other game compares in terms of hardware demand, and if you’re flying in 4K it’s doubly the case.
I am running a MSI MAG 321CQF E18 , basically a 32" wide screen MSI monitor.
180Hz Refresh and 2560 x 1440
You could try to cut your Refesh rate, say down to 60, and see what happens. If your machine can handle other settings at high/ultra the refresh rate doesn’t need to be anywhere near that high.
Do you use the Nvidia App?
A simple thing to try is in MSFS to limit your Max Frames to 60, or even 30 then add Frame Generation x2, just as a test, but a lot depends on your settings.
I think the more details you can fill in, the more chance of finding a solution.
- Monitor is GSync / VSync compatible, connected via Displayport?
- Windows > Settings > Display > Advanced > Refresh Rate = ?
- … Display > Graphics > Advanced > VRR is On?
- … Display > Graphics > Advanced > HAGS is On?
- NVIDIA APP (if installed?) > Graphics…
- … GSync Compatible = on or off?
- … Vertical Sync = Use 3D app ?
- … DLSS Override Model Presets?
- MSFS Graphics… screenshot?
- … Anti-aliasing?
- … Max Frame Rate?
- … Vertical Sync?
- … Frame Generation?
- … Global Preset?
- … TLOD / OLOD?
- … Try with an empty Community Folder?
How are the CPU and GPU temps when running MSFS? If not sure, I suggest HWInfo in Sensors Only Mode to run in the background with MSFS to get a sense of temps.
Another simple thing to try is to delete the MSFS Rolling Cache (in MSFS Setings > Online) Set to any value like “1”, exit the field, then set it back to 16 or whatever you had… then reboot MSFS.
Check if there is a problem with the power supply?

I’m running 4k free flight Ga with the same GPU/CPU at 4k XGMI projected 110in. Settings are moderate high / ultra and the sim handles this fine. I find the farther you go from default the more knobs to twist to find your way. Try default settings for starters in both Nvidia panel settings and game. Select high default ingame and start there. You should have no problem running at these settings…Dlss FG x 2…Seldom ever fly tubers though…low and hot aerobatics with a stick in hand…sim’s awesome…hang in there, been there myself…
