Performance settings RTX 4060 Ti, i7-12700F

Hi all!
A question regarding optimal performance or experiences from other simmers regarding the following specs.

I have been a simmer for quite a few years now, and I bought a new pc relatively lately. Due to my budget, a specialised gaming shop advised me on the following pc:

Intel i7-12700F
NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti (8GB version)
32GB RAM DDR5.

I have watched many YouTube video’s, read forums, and checked out some performance guides (such as RDPreset’s one), but still seem to get somewhat low on FPS when using heavy addons (e.g. Fenix + Aerosoft Frankfurt).

What are your experiences on settings with similar equipment? Thanks for your input in advance!

In general, Fenix, PMDG, FBW, etc all work quite well with the settings below, reaching somewhat in the 40 FPS region (a bit less in e.g. inibuilds Heathrow but I can still fly a quite smooth approach). Given the new AS EDDF scenery, I noticed a huge FPS drop today (Fenix A321) to which it was almost unplayable. That made me think; why not ask fellow simmers for their settings

I don’t fly the planes that you fly but I notice you didn’t post your traffic or data (LIVE REAL-WORLD AIR TRAFFIC) settings. Traffic plays a large role in fps performance.

Nvidia has a new app out that combines Nvidia control panel and GeForce experience. It has the ability to choose the optimum settings for any game it is able to optimize—MSFS 2020 is one of those games. It also can do an optimum overclock for individual GPUs if you want. It worked verry well setting up my sim Settings.

Why vsync and anisotropic filtering turned off?

Those are managed by NVIDIA control panel, that was advised by several guides. Anisotropic is set to 8x.

If changes are made via NVIDIA Control Panel screenshots from NVIDIA Control Panel should also be included.

Check out this thread for tuning:

My MSI Prestige has similar hardware. I can regularly get around 50-60fps.
I’m very happy with the MSI.

Since even small differences between PC’s can impact performance I recommend that you take a look at this YouTube video to tune your PC.

Welcome to the community! With your specs, it sounds like you’re on the right track, but performance can definitely be tricky with heavy addons. For optimal settings, you might try tweaking the following:

  • Render Scaling: Lowering it slightly can improve FPS without a huge impact on visual quality.
  • Lod Radius: Reducing this can help with performance in dense areas.
  • Clouds and Traffic: Lowering these settings might also help with FPS drops.

It might also be worth checking for any background applications that could be affecting performance. Hope this helps!

That sounds great! Would you mind sharing your settings?

Thanks for sharing all your ideas everyone!

I’ve done a screen shot of my graphics settings. Basically what was recommended by Nvidia.

I should have said I use a 55" Smart TV as a monitor.
