First flight:
Start and quit flight immediately. This is a hack to record subsequent flights in log book.
Second Flight:
Start up checklist goes without issue and clearance, taxi and departure ATC works as expected. ATIS indicated active runway was opposite of the windsock, and announced landings and departures were also on the non-active runway. Not not a huge departure from SU4, though. No lag on taxi when switching to external views.
Airport buildings have no windows, as has been reported in other SU5 threads.
Once at cruise, flying over coastal BC, the water textures still have tears or tile lines. At low altitude, the buildings looked decent and varied but no windows. Trees look awesome though.
Arrival: ATC directed arrival descent to the appropriate approach elevation with enough time to get down without pretending the airplane is a lawn dart - this is promising!
When on the ground, with only one engine shut down and rebuilding new flight plan, ATC didn’t accept new flight plan from EFB and so couldn’t get new departure clearance.
Third flight:
Parked and fly drone over CYVR. EFB displayed aircraft on the ground, arriving and departing but were not visible from the drone view. Airport and ground textures super slow to load and never fully loaded. When I went to exit, the sim CTD. Fist time this has happened for me on SU5 beta.
Conclusion:
Buildings look good but no windows. Airport textures and aircraft either didn’t load or were not visible on 3rd flight of the session. Water textures showed grid lines. CTD not great but not unexpected in beta. Logbook hack is required to record flight time in logbook. Satisfaction level: 7/10
