Persistent stutters and flight interruptions since SU5 on High-End PC

Hi everyone,

I am reaching out to report a severe performance regression that has made MSFS 2024 virtually unusable for me. Since the release of Sim Update 5 (SU5), I am experiencing frequent, constant interruptions and “pauses” during flight.

Prior to the April/May update, the simulator ran perfectly. Now, despite having a high-end system and making zero changes to my hardware or peripherals, the experience is ruined by these stutters. I have already tried all the standard troubleshooting steps (cleaning cache, resetting settings), but the issue is clearly tied to the SU5 update itself.

It is frustrating to see such a powerful rig struggle with basic flight stability due to software regressions.

My System Specs:

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090

  • RAM: 64 GB

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K

I am looking for a definitive fix or a workaround that actually addresses the streaming/stuttering issues introduced with this latest build. Is anyone with similar specs seeing this “heartbeat” stuttering?

I also experience this on every flight with every aircraft. I have removed my community folder and the same issues present themselves. Never had this performance issue in SU4. I have an RTX 5090 and 9800X3D

I have the same issue as well. I have a 9850X3D and 5090 with 64GB ram and am noticing poorer performance than SU4. I am noticing stutters and just general all round not smoothness. I am on latest Nivida driver but something is not right somewhere.

Your graphic settings are too high. I was always getting stutters when starting any of the challenges until I turned down the Nvidia graphics settings by one notch, no problems since then.

My graphics card is now not maxed out.

Same here, poor performance, even worse than SU4 RTX 5070 TI + AMD Ryzen 9850X3D.

I don’t understand. I have 9800X3D, rtx5090 64Gb ddr5 and any problems with su5. I fly only vr with pimax super oled. Cache disabled in settings.
