Just some observations for Perth Airport. Will report to Zendesk if I can get confirmation on below observations.
Incorrectly labeled gates (gates 52 to 57 are not GA) should be medium to heavy jets
Having live traffic turned on, no activity at the airport during a very busy hour or 2 from 6am local time
Live timetable/traffic data for Perth (and all other airports for me) is always blank (server appears to be online)
I think it’s difficult since YPPH is an AI-generated gate. It’s probably most likely to be randomly assigned and not exactly following the true real life gate assignments.
The only way I can feel this can be fixed is by handcrafting the airport.
I think they just look at the satellite images and has some algorithms behind it to determine which ones are “gates” and which ones are GA parking spots. Sometimes when parking spots look like to be too small for an airline, they determine it to be GA.
It’s especially true to anything that has a Ramp/stairs. It’s always going to be considered as a Ramp GA. even though it’s not really the case in real life.
But handcrafted airports are generally correct like YSSY.
Yes, you are right. You would think the airbridges would be visible from a satellite bing image, clearly way too big for GA…lol…still I guess it will be corrected in time. There is just so much wrong with this sim, but I wont go there, LoL Thanks for your reply
I don’t think it’ll ever be corrected. Because it needs either an updated satellite images with higher resolution photos, or changing the algorithm in the AI, but even so, it’s going to be a huge change with a huge impact.
Like I said, the best chance of this ever going to be fixed won’t be on the AI itself, there’s too much variable and to many things can go wrong, it could even turn out worse than it already is. But instead, have third party developers like ORBX to do have their own payware airports for Perth. Or even simply the community making the fixes and release it to community sites like flightsim.to and the likes.
I wouldn’t hold my breath on waiting for Asobo to fix individual airports. I don’t think it’ll ever happen. (Unless we get a World Update, Australia that is).
Yes, you said it all really. I have already reported detached airbridges and “falling short” airbridges, but like you say, I’m not holding my breath
Hehe, thanks Neo…looks OK, but such a wasted opportunity Fancily, but poorly put together for a “teaser” video clip, one of the worst teaser clips I’ve ever seen, tbh
Note to Axonos: spend less time on fancy cutting the clip to music, and more time on actual content
With that in mind, I think I’ll be waiting for a review
I think the teaser is simply to let people know that they’re working on that project next. It doesn’t show much because they probably don’t have anything worth showing. If they show terminals that are less than ideal, then people would get the wrong idea on the quality that they’ll bring.
But not announcing anything to anyone is difficult for them to have an idea on the demand based on the lack of responses. Which might mean that their effort of building the entire airport might be a wasted because no one would be buying them if no one is waiting for them.
But yes, just wait for a review when they’re released. I’m just sharing that we have this group that’s working on YPPH, and we just wait for it to be released and reviewed.
In the mean time, maybe if we can find their other airport projects that have been released and their reviews, that way at least we know what to expect from their caliber.
