PFD not turning ON on battery power (G58 & DA40 NG)

On various aircraft equipped with the G1000, the PFD should turn on when battery power is set to ON. Along with that, there are a few systems that are then powered like radio 1.

This happens 100% of time. It does not happens on aircraft developed by serious organizations like 3rd party developers (not Asobo).

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start your flight on the ramp (Cold start).
  2. Turn the battery On.
  3. Do not see that the PFD turns on.
  4. Contact Asobo.

I am not using Mods. Doing that would probably improve my experience.

When you switch on the battery, PFD does not turn on automatically. You need to manually turn on the avionic master. Or did I miss something to your issue ?

Of course if you turn ON the avionics the PFD & MFD will turn on. But this is not the issue. You need to have your PFD available on battery power for a myriad of reasons. The main one probably being so that you can monitor engine instruments when cranking the engine at start up while at the same time not having the full suite of avionics powered while the alternators might create all kind of power surges in the process.

In MSFS 2020, for both the G58 and DA40 NG, the PFD turns on when battery power is switched on (while Avionics Switch OFF):

Not with MSFS 2024:

Thank you for the explanation, I did not know it was working like that IRL.
The only ask I have is to create 1 report per aircraft since devs are not always implementing fixes at the same time per aircraft. You could update your title/description to just let 1 aircraft in that report and create a new report for the other one.

Yes

I have this issue on the Bonanza 36 too. No revisionary mode, cannot complete the preflight checklists.

SU4, Still no PFD when switching ON the Battery…. :sob:

The best solution is to buy the COWS DA40/42 or the BlackSquare Professional Bonanza/Baron and not Asobo’s botch material.

Or toss aside 2024 and get back to 2020 in my case. It’s nearly perfect there. After all the previous flightsims being an analog version, I really love my glass nowadays (whether G1000 or with a white foamy layer :winking_face_with_tongue: )
