Description of the issue:
When using Photo Mode in Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2024, screenshots are saved correctly in the in-game photo library if the simulator is started in 2D mode. However, if the user switches to VR mode and then back to 2D, Photo Mode stops saving screenshots to the library. A full restart of the simulator is required to restore Photo Mode functionality. This issue significantly disrupts the use of Photo Mode during flights, especially for users who switch between 2D and VR modes for challenges, scenery creation, and documentation.

  • 100% - This issue occurs every time the steps below are followed.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator in 2D mode.
  2. Enter Photo Mode and take a screenshot.
  • :white_check_mark: Screenshot is saved in the in-game photo library.
  1. Switch to VR mode.
  2. Attempt to take a screenshot in Photo Mode.
  • :cross_mark: The screenshot may or may not save in VR.
  1. Switch back to 2D mode.
  2. Attempt to take another screenshot in Photo Mode.
  • :cross_mark: Screenshot no longer saves.
  1. Restart the simulator completely.
  2. Repeat the above steps to confirm the issue.

YOUR SETTINGS

  • VR Headset: Pimax Crystal Light
  • PC Only: Not using Developer Mode. No modifications made.
  • Graphics API: DirectX 12 (DX12)
  • Operating System: Windows 11 (Latest updates installed)
  • MSFS Version: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, PC (non-Steam version)

I can confirm this 100%. Some photo missions remain broken on top of this new SU2 issue.

Same here, no photos found on disk after taking them in VR since SU2.

Would be really good if this has some attention and not buried in the many bug reports. I am on sim update 3 and this still happens BTW

Extremely annoying bug! Ruins “world photographer”-mode for me. I’m completely uninterested in playing in 2D-mode.

It took me quite a while to figure out it was a bug as well, I only tried in VR mode and I couldn’t understand what I was supposed to do after I took a photo, I didn’t know it was supposed to switch to the validation screen by itself.

Please prioritize this bug!

Same here - so much time wasted trying to figure out where my screenshots were. SU3 beta and this issue persists. What a bummer. I was going to share with friends but nm, then.
