Piaggio P.180 Avanti II by FlightFX

P26 - P59 of this manual > Working Title CJ4 User Guide v0.12.13 - Google Docs are the ‘missing’ instructions for the CDU in the P180. Fly safe.

Unfortunately the WT EFB is not a reliable way to load the Fuel or PAX/Cargo on the P180. The Got Friends W&B tool works fine though. I know WT are updating the EFB with every patch, so hopefully we will be able to use it as intended one day soon. If you really want to go nuts, try this W&B tool: https://flightsim.to/file/90460/ffx-p180-weight-balance

Flying the Avanti in 2024 SU2 now, what a nice ride! Just me and SimBrief block fuel, loaded via the EFB with no CG issues, but then again that’s just me and 2,029 lbs of Jet A! Flew the 35A this morning which is such a brisk handful single-pilot; the Avanti is the lap of luxury and I love them both!

Anyone have any more info on the Oil Cooler system? THere’s no mention of it in the manual and the oil gets HOT. when are you supposed to use it? what are the instructions? looking for these sorts of things

If i buy the fs20 version in the Fs24 store, will i get the FS24 update for free when that arrives or will that be a paid upgrade?

They’ve said the 2024 update will be free for owners of the 2020 version upon its release. It was also mentioned that they may add a small update fee at some point well after launch but if you buy it now and already have 2024 then you’ll be fine.

What’s the latest on when the Evo is coming?

Heres a link to the discord FlightFX .

The evo hasnt been mentioned in quite a long time. This is what Nikko recently said in discord “Almost done with and update to the HJET. Different team is working the 2024 P180 which should be right around the same time as the HJet. Then ERJ and CL35. Maybe a surprise as well.”.

I do not understand. I bought the P.180 on the MSFS2024 marketplace only to find out that it is not fully compatible with MSFS2024. How can it be sold on the 2024 marketplace without being fully compatible?

I’ve used the P180 in 2024 for a while now, it’s not native yet (I believe that’s in the works) but works just fine. There are certainly far worse aircraft in the marketplace currently

Edit: 2024

Good idea when shopping on the Marketplace to note wether the item displays “2020” before buying.

On another note, I have been flying the 2020 Avanti for months and most things work just fine. What do you find incompatible with 24?

The weight and balance is not working resulting in CG Problems and controllability issues, Yaw damper does not seem to work, the aircraft performance is off by 25 knots in cruise at FL160 based on the provided cruise charts…and that is based only on a 1hr flight

Currently it is a 2020 aircraft that works in 2024, hopefully when it is fully adapted to 2024 they will also fix some of the issues. I too have noticed that its darn near impossible to rotate off a runway even with full aft stick and a lot of nose up trim. I usually adjust the empty CG in the EFB to try and compensate for this. Still fiddling with it currently.

Edit: Just came across this message on their discord from 11/26/2024 “2024 version is about to go to the beta team. Lots of avionics changes as its been updated to the 2.0 framework”

How is the Avanti on the new U4?

Decided to wait for that to drop, and main worry is the screens, seeing the Citation X has some problems there.

Just popped into the Avanti for a quick look at the screens in 24 Su4 and they look just fine to me. While I don’t have time to fly it now, I see no reason why not to based on what I am seeing during a quick sprint down the runway to RTO. Cheers!

Has there been a fix/workaround for the issue of barely being able to takeoff? Full up elevator and trim and it needs like 160kias to rotate

Cheers, just pulled the trigger on this beauty.

edit: Seems like she may be bugged. Flightplan shows up on the box, and even on the map. But not besides that and not in my nav data..

Apologies, I load SimBrief flight plans directly into the FMS. I don’t use the 24 EFB for anything in the Avanti.

No worries. I only have the tablet up for reference. I punch it all in manually.

If you use the web based Flight Planner, one can copy the flight plan string out of that and paste it into SimBrief. That way the flight plan can be loaded into the FMS, saving all those key strokes.
