Hi, I’ve been using my new PICO 4 for a few days now and, as I have no chance to have a good Wifi signal, given the distance my Wifi-6 router is located, I have to configure it by USB-c cable.
Now I have managed to get MSFS to detect them with SteamVR and Streaming Assistant, configured for OPENXR, but when I select to switch to VR (ctrl + TAB), but all I see is that it splits the image into two screens, which I guess is what I should see in the viewer, but I can’t get those images to transfer to the PICO-4s.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks
Are you seeing the split two screens when viewing in the headset? I didn’t use Pico’s streaming assistance but it sounds like you are in a desktop view only.

Hello, thank you for your reply.
Yes, on my Pico 4 I see the main MSFS screen and when I activate VR, it splits into two, but the VR view is not activated.
Indeed, I am in a desktop view but I don’t know how to activate VR from there. I’ve chafed through all the Streaming Assistant options and don’t see a way to switch views.
Have you tried it with the Wireless version, even if you get close to the router temporarily? I only used Virtual Desktop when I had the Pico 4 and it worked flawlessly so don’t have any experience with the wired Streaming Assistant connection.

Yes, it was the first thing I tried as soon as I got the Pico-4, it was quick and easy to set it up although the image quality was very poor and every 4 or 5 seconds there was a short but annoying cut, as well as irregularities in the sound.
That’s why I decided to try with cable.
In any case, I have already discovered the problem thanks to your previous answer, for which I am very grateful.
The advantage of using USB-c cable is that, in my case, it gives me more image quality and no stuttering. The disadvantage is that SteamVR gives errors frequently and I have to restart everything. Let’s see if I can find a way to run a direct cable to the router without my wife complaining too much…
If you can get the computer connected to the router via Ethernet cable, I would strongly suggest trying Virtual Desktop for your connection. You can use its build in VDXR runtime which means you don’t need to run SteamVR. That means you don’t need to worry about this errors you are seeing with SteamVR and you will also get a performance boost without SteamVR in the mix.

Work with 2 desktops.
Desktop 1 - MSFS start( completely.).
Desktop 2 - Start Pico 4
Then go back to Destop 1 and press CTRL + Tab
have fun…

Thank you so much, friend.
Thank you very much, friend.
Use Virtual Desktop and get rid of SteamVR entirely, that would be a nice step forward.

Thanks for the advice, I know you are right but my problem is that I have the Wifi 6 router very far away and the Pico-4s only reach 2.4g Wifi, which gives pitiful bandwidth. I tried the pitiful SteamVR because it gives me the option to concetrate via cable. I have to find a solution to bring the Wifi 6 close enough to be able to use Virtual Desktop and I’m working on it.
Hi, you made my day with this video, my friend! Thank you very much, I’m going to try it tomorrow and let you know my experience.
Regards
Bingo! That’s exactly the solution, use USB tethered with Virtual Desktop, just what I needed. The image quality and fluidity, compared to SteamVR, is brutal.
Thank you very, very, very much!
