Pico 4 - Recording test 2

Here is the second recording test with my Pico 4.

This time I chose to fly to a place that we “all know”, namely LOWI. Various clouds, to create different light conditions, and combined visuals (even with interior details). A bit of action, in short.

What do you think?

Again, the result is excellent. I reiterate that I see nothing inferior to a Reverb G2, with the following added advantages:

Wider FOV

Huge sweet spot (at least 70% view)

No cables

Right now, I’m leaning toward the Pico 4 - but I’m not done yet, now the “durability” test awaits me, i.e. a stage of my World Tour. I want to see how the device holds up to two hours of use, especially as regards the stability in the wireless connection. I also want to try a glass cockpit aircraft (already done, but quickly).

I leave the specifics, unchanged from the first video.

Virtual Desktop - wireless connection - Godlike mode

SteamVR @ 192%

OpenXR Toolkit 4468x4468, NIS upscaling, FOV preset

Recording/streaming setup: LittleNavMap, FlyLiveStudio overlay, webcam. OBS with CBR/5000 kpbs bitrate

PC: 13900kf + 4090

Game: 100% render scale, DLSS Balanced, Ultra presets except Contact Shadows, Occlusion and Raymarched Reflections (Low)

Hi mate, what’s your FPS like?

It’s basically capped at 45 by ASW, resulting in 90 in the headset. Over places like NY or similar it can go down to 35 or similar, sometimes.

Any tests with airliners like the fenix, pmdg etc ?

Here’s the A310. Globally speaking it’s a little less smooth, but it’s barely noticeable.

Cockpit panels are mostly readable (I use DLSS Balanced).
