Pilatus PC-12 Landing Gear

Is the PC-12 landing gear made from LEGO? About every third flight I have to get a new one. I have started taking extra care to do as smooth as possible landings but that has made no difference. The PC-12 is designed to land on rough and very short airstrips. You’d expect it’s landing gear to be extra strong. And IRL the whole plane is famously “over-engineered”!!!

No, for me it is strong. Have to change tires after 10 flights but the gear itself is always ok. But you are right, the plane should be classified to operate from unpaved runways.

Whats your approach/landing speed?

I also own the Pilatus and I’ve never had that issue

Landing speed around 70 knots

As i see in documents from pilatus, stall speed in landing configuration is 67kn, this x1.3 is around 87kn (approach speed)

As i read on this website;

I think 70kn are too low and you land too hard.

Different opinions from other users or simmers?

I watches my exact speeds yesterday evening;

Approach; 95-100 kn

Treshhold 50ft; 90 kn

Touchdown; 80-85kn
