Pilatus PC-6 avionics display black

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Avionics in the PC-6 are black

Description of the issue:
I just jumped back into SU2 with version 1.4.14.0 and found that both the PFD and MFD in the Pilatus PC-6 are black. It doesn’t matter if I start on the runway ready to fly or if I start off cold & dark and hit CTL-E to start. Either way, my avionics are completely black and unusable. It happens in both VR and in 2d mode. It is still happening in version 1.4.16.0.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?
I’m not sure if it happened prior to the Beta. I never attempted to fly the PC-6 in FS2024 before I jumped into the Beta.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Pilatus PC-6

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes, community folder is empty

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
every time I choose the PC-6

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1.choose the PC-6 in free flight
2.choose either cold & dark or start on the runway, it doesn’t matter
3.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• For some reason I was able to get the PFD working again (not the MFD) by playing around with the Kodiak (3rd party). Not sure what I did, either trying to turn on the Kodiak when it was dark (then exit to menu and change to PC-6) or start the Kodiak completely running on the runway (and then exiting to menu and change to PC-6). It seems the internal state of the airplane or PFD/MFD or FMS in general is shared between some airplanes? I’m now in the state where the PFD works, but I can’t get the MFD display to turn on.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Hi @Veshaille ,
I have moved out the original report from Alpha/Beta Archive > SU2 Beta Archive - 2024 so that votes are kept and users can keep contributing to it.

After a lot of fiddling around in developer mode in MSFS 2024, I have found a workaround to get both displays up and running again. You need to do this on every launch as it doesn’t stick, and it introduces two “LOW VOLTS” messages that I can’t get away. At least it’s usable.

  • Load up the G1000 variant of the Cessna 172 Skyhawk in the simulator and put it on a runway.
  • Enable developer mode in the settings if not enabled already.
  • Go to the “Debug” menu, then “Aircraft”, then “Electrical”, which opens up a new window.
  • Turn off/on everything you can find (turn off suppliers, turn on suppliers, turn off circuits, turn on circuits, disconnect all lines, connect all lines, pull all breakers, push all breakers).
  • End flight and load up the PC-6 on the runway.

For me both the PFD and MFD are now working again.

Perhaps this also helps developers find the issue more quickly. Originally my problems started after using a third party plane (SWS Kodiak) and getting electrical issues in that plane due to battery issues. It seems some configuration is shared between airplanes, but not all airplanes “reset” their values to working order fully.
