Pilot's lounge - What did you do in MSFS today?

Re your post today, I’ve certainly had to tune the sensitivity down on my TFRP, although to be fair they are pretty bad pedals. Even with several mod attempts to make them smooth and not sticky they are still very hard to finesse.

I’m not sure if it can be done, but I think half or third of the sensitivity for about half of the movement spectrum should do wonders, but that’s not for today, got to go to work and sadly that does not involve rudder pedals.

Interestingly there seem to be quite a huge gap in the world of rudder pedals. There are a few around 100EUR then there are a few around 400EUR and nothing in between. I was lucky to pick my TFRP for about 50EUR from someone who did not much use them. So far I’d say it will be quite some until stickyness will be a worse problem than my lack of skills

Check out this mod here which helps a lot but I’m still not happy with them.

I thought like you that my skills would be more of a limitation than the sticktion, but I quickly realised that it’s near impossible to make small corrections if the pedals are not smooth.

A bad workman blames his tools, but a good workman knows to buy good tools to start with.

It really wasn’t an issue with the Longitude, I’ve made a bunch better landings, even in crosswind, when I did not yet have the pedals. For now sensitivity settings and practice swem to be the best solution.

Interestingly the stuction issue is much more pronounced with my TWCS than with the TFRP. But then I still consider myself relatively rookie in MSFS, so while your proverb is certainly true, I do not think my tools would be a greater factor than my inexperience.

On the other hand in my real world experience that I had 25+ years ago in glider piloting, the amount of rudder input I made during that landing should have not been even apparent, yet it threw me completely off course.

I’m looking forward to see how much better or worse it will get if I alter sensitivity settings

Love this shot so much! Thank you for sharing it here!

Glad you like it! The Duckworks-modded DC-3/C-47 is probably my favorite airplane in MSFS right now. I do love a good warbird!

i spent 3 hours trying to get it to work and TRYING to submit a ticket with support. No luck at all. My PC is new with a rtx3070 and I am just finished starfield with obsoletely zero stuttering and great frame rates. After the latest update I simply cant play this sim any more. Lots of stuttering even in the load screen. I have tried everything. Why bother to fix it when a new mandatory update will come and change it in a few days. I tried to find where to repair the install and looked at my VR settings but this led me to a rabbit hole with no escape. I am sorry to rant here but this is actually the only place I have found where I can give my opinion. Please dont try to sell me game pass. I just want to fly somewhere

Sometimes it IS hard to get stuff working right after patches. By now MSFS is such a patchwork I’m really not surprised about ditching the whole thing and build a 2024. At least I do hope that is one of the reasons, apart from more money of course.

Last time I had drastic performance drops raising LOD settings strangely helped, as it turned out sometimes lowering GPU load creates a CPU bottleneck. Maybe you should try that, but no promises.

Sounds like a Micke Lang ferry flight. Grats on your longhaul achievement :+1:

I’m still in the middle of my transatlantic DA62 ferry in MSFS, next leg would be approx 5 hours and I just can’t find that kind of free time

Thanks for sharing about Micke Lang. I watched one of his videos and really enjoyed it.

That looks pretty nice! I’ve never seen any ice on any of my planes, even though it is enabled in the settings.

Yep, the effect is very easy when taking the GIUK route to Europe. I’m almost guaranteed icing on low layer precip days staring from the eastern end of Canada. At -10c on the ground and light snow or rain, you have to taxi fast in order to keep the FIKI.ahead of the buildup.

Hi MuTe0794 , I did test again with graphic settings and Nvidia filters to see what is the difference. It is very likely that the Nvidia Filters + in-sim HDR10 together would give the best graphics. If you are using a HDR monitor, do not forget to turn on HDR10.

You can see the comparision:

HDR10: OFF
Nvidia Filter: OFF

HDR10: OFF
Nvidia Filter: ON

Thanks a lot @MATSC133. I’m on vacation now but I’ll try this once I get back to home on January 8th. Will write my results here again with the settings that you had suggested a while ago. Thanks again !

Re: What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2) - #5139 by MATSC133

@MATSC133 Did you get assigned 02C at WSSS? You are lucky. IRL, even though Terminal 4 is quite nice, but I hate that taxing time from T4 to 02R (usual for departure) takes 20 minutes.

@duracellko:

when I create flightplan with Simbrief, it suggested 02R for departure, but I manually chose 02C and using Terminal 2 (my favorite).

Since SU14, there is an option where ATC will follow your plan, so my airplane get assigned 02C as planned, but I saw some other AI aircraft also used 02C.

IRL, I do not really understand how Singaporean airport authority let that happened, though only temporarily. There is no taxiway connect 02R/20L to main airport sections, operation time and costs might be higher and ineffective for airlines, especially when departure 02R from Terminal 3.
